The staff are very friendly! Apartment sizes are okay, not too big but not tiny. Amenities are good but I wish they had more outdoor space

1. Experience = 2. Started off good. Within a few months things went downhill fast. 2. Cleanliness = 0 was terrible. After a few months there it smelled so bad our eyes would water. The rooms next to my mom smelled so bad it was horrific and had to be toxic. They had 1 housekeeper for the whole facility. The place was unsanitary. 3. Friendliness = 3 4. Quality of Care = 1. They were supposed to check on the residents (at least my mom) every 2 hours. That did not happen. And I believe that is part of the reason she died there. Sounds harsh but valid. They had 1 person on duty for the entire site of 80 residents. That is criminal and just plain neglect. 5. Administrative Staff = in the 7 months my mom was there I only met the Marketing person who toured us. No one ever from the offices. The staff that interacted with the residences were clearly not happy. Weekends they had 1, yes 1 med tech on duty. Negligent. 6. Food = 2. Quality mediocre. 7. Activities = 2. No variety. Exercise classes were good.

If there were directional signs to room numbers it would help the visitors find the residents room so much easier. Example: To get to my loved ones room, it's one left and three rights. For some reason it's a challenge. I attached samples of my suggestion. Staff, everyone has been amazing. The care my my loved one is receiving is the most important and that has been outstanding. Doctor[ name removed] took the time to call me so he could get more detailed information about my loved one. We had a great conversation and he appreciated the little things that would help him in gaining my loved ones trust. He also gave me his direct phone number in case I needed to speak with him. That was impressive. The hallways could use attention. The baseboards are pretty rough. Routine painting would make a positive impact. I realize wheelchairs and other equipment cause a lot of it but it's concerning when you see it during your tour of the facility.

We were able to get a large room with a small patio for a reasonable price. There are activities each day but they don't vary much week to week. The food is excellent and meals are a social time for residents.

I like that's it's smaller and he seems to get better attention. They do try to get [name removed] engaged in more activities as well The other place he was at he was always in his room. Now he is out where there are other people

I would recommend others. Food is really good and lots of social activities. My mom is loving Alta Vista senior living. It was a rough first couple of months but she has grown to really like it now.

The help staff can be a lot better. Little things need more attention, such as making sure his little refrigerator can be looked at to see if everything is working right. That is just an example of the many things that can be better. A couple of times I had to get the Executive Director to respond to some of my concerns. Also, the food could be a little better.

Honestly, 5 across the board. The staff are all very nice and very supportive. The med techs have always given her her medication's timely. They wake her up when needed for her appointments and help get her out the door for pick up. They have live music a lot of times my mom wakes up for breakfast gets dressed and does not go back to her room all day because she's busy doing activities.

Our dad was at Alta Vista for three weeks. He fell five times in six or seven days. If they are totally independent then it's a good place. However, they are understaffed at night. Before we moved him in he needed help going to the bathroom at night. That was our main focus. I don't think I told you he fell 5 times in six or seven days because they were not checking on him. We got him out. He was only there three weeks.

I am truly pleased with Alta Vista. My mother (90) lived with me for the last two years I was her full time caregiver. We wanted the best for her, of course,but it was necessary for me to go back to work. I am so pleased with the care and kindness she has received this past month. I was so nervous about how she would respond to not being with family but she repeated tells me how happy she is at AVSL. She has been welcomed by staff and already has a group of friends. They have wonderful activities that vary and she is excited for everyday. Thank you Alta Vista! You are definitely a 5 star facility. [name removed] the executive director is so kind and goes above and beyond to make everything perfect for my Mom. Thank you! All the staff are very friendly! [name removed] made our transition so easy . She was definitely the one that convinced us this was where we needed to place our family member! Due to her caring about the residents!The facility is immaculate! The food in the dining room is delicious and they give several meal options! The staff has great communication! Lots of activities and a printed monthly newsletter!we love that our family member get his room cleaned and laundry done weekly! The executive director always has an open door ! So highly recommend!

The staff here are friendly and helpful. The activity director [name removed] is always committed to provide fun events and decorations for the Holiday and the different seasons of the year. She makes the events enjoyable and gets folks here to participate at social events. We really notice & miss her sparkle when she is not at the music events. The staff members are always ready to give assistance. A real plus to make one feel comfortable here.
