Overall, we did not have a great experience. A lot of bad communication between the different departments there. For the most part, the staff was very nice, some just didn't seem to know what they were doing. The food was good. For the most part it was clean and the apartment size was good.

My dad is very happy he loves his apartment and it's the perfect size for him it has one bedroom that is separate from the rest of the living space. The staff are all very kind and helpful. My dad loves the activities they provide he says the food is good. They do need to make some improvements on the building. I did notice one area where the roof leaks and one of the main common areas on the second floor near the dining area. Other than that we are very pleased with Cottingham

I believe that it is not managed very well at all. It took three months for them to get my correct address in their system to send the bill to me… It took almost a month for me to get them to put her name on her mailbox so she could start getting mail… I was told a physical therapist would visit her the day after she moved in, it took me several phone calls and a visit to their physical therapy office to finally try to schedule something with them… I was given a phone number to text if I had any questions for nurses on my mom's floor and they would respond to me a few days later. They did offer quite a few activities, the staff seemed very nice, not all seemed super knowledgeable, and it seemed like there was a lot of turnover in a short amount of time we were there. The assisted living apartment was decent. The staff did come in and keep it pretty clean while she lived there. My mom thought the food was decent.

The staff is very friendly. My parents for the most part like it there. There are times when they are short staffed. The food is something they occasionally complain about. If I had one complaint it would be about their plumbing. They have ongoing issues with that

I would give each of these categories a 5 with the exception of cleanliness- I would give that a 4. The hallway is sometimes dirty and it could use some upgrades in the appearance. The staff is incredible though. They are responsive and helpful and truly care about the residents.

Food quality is inconsistent , lack of variety, service is poor Improvement of facility would get a 5 Installed new windows site wide, better overall look and improved ability to manage temperature in apartments Greatest need - thermostat on in apartment Facility is 40 years old. Has lots of dust, mold from water leaks. Any person who suffers from allergies is strongly advised to purchase a portable air purifier. Air circulation is less than optimal, no cold air returns, so a small tower fan really helps there. There is not enough staff, particularly aides and nurses, in assisted living. Meds are slow to get distributed. I'm in independent living so I'm not directly affected. Furniture in common areas is old, upholstery faded, cushions worn, lacking support.

A place for mom was quick to respond to my inquiry. Cottingham Retirement Community arranged for a tour promptly. My efficient apartment was freshly painted and has new cabinets and appliances in kitchenette. It also has new flooring, attractive, but very slippery!!!

My loved one is currently a resident at Cottingham Retirement Community and the experience has been mostly good. The friendliness is great. The cleanliness, staff and care services are good. The food, however, needs some help according to my loved one.

My loved one resided in Assisted Living here for over a year. We were very happy with the care she received. They have some really good Aides, they were wonderful. There are some very good caring people here. Communication with the family was good. The food was excellent. It was always clean. My loved one didn't participate in the activities, so I can't rate those. She was recently moved to the Skilled Nursing side and everything has been the complete opposite, terrible experience so far. We're looking at moving her to a different facility. Again, it's a good choice for Assisted Living. Our experience on that side was very positive. I would recommend the Assisted Living side to family and friends.

We chose Cottingham Retirement because we needed something that was not too far from where we lived so we could check on him more often and so this location was great. We also really liked the staff and the layout of the place. The facility was very clean and they had tons of activities provided. They have been great about their covid protocols and are really taking care of the residents. They have had a wave of covid cases recently and in response they have shut down activities, delivered meals to rooms, and have on site doctors visits to keep them as safe as possible. They really treat my brother with respect and I would highly recommend them.
