The staff is very friendly and accommodating. However, some of the promised amenities were walked back shortly after we moved my parents in, including trash pick-up and bi-weekly assistance with cleaning. They do have seasonal events and activities for the residents, and the halls/cafeteria are kept clean, but again, the promised assistance with keeping their unit clean never happened.

This is a good place for people who are budget-conscious. There are other facilities that offer more amenities, but they also come with a much higher price, so that's to be expected. My mom lives in the independent living section, and she's been happy there. She receives a little help when needed, someone cleans her apartment once a week, and maintenance issues are taken care of. One area that could be improved is the maintenance request process—you have to write requests in a log yourself. It would be much more convenient if residents could simply call and have their request added to the maintenance list. Another improvement would be building security. The buildings are not locked at night. There haven't been any incidents that I'm aware of, but having the doors locked overnight would provide additional peace of mind. Overall, it's a decent place with a few minor areas that could be improved to make it more user-friendly. Since my mom is in independent living, I can't speak to the quality of the assisted living services.

What we like the most about Gordan Oaks is that It is truly a community everyone there cares about each other, the staff all of the residents, the kitchen staff everyone's wonderful. The food is fabulous. This is a safe wonderful place for your senior loved one delicious food, family, friendly tons of activities. They truly care about their residence.

I'm loving Gordon Oaks and am so happy that I discovered it. I formally lived at Asher Point and this place is half as much as I was paying for a One bedroom over there plus I have two bedrooms, two bath rooms and a washer and dryers in my apartment. I was paying [Amount Removedd] a month at! They had gone up[Amount remvoed] in two years! And they charged you for meals that I didn't even eat. The food is awful btw.

While the staff is friendly, much of the promised amenities are not being provided that were promised in both the brochure and the contract that was signed. Included in the initial agreement was bi-weekly housekeeping for my parents' room and trash service, but shortly after signing the agreement, there was a change in management, and now my parents are not getting the promised assistance with housekeeping and they are responsible for taking their own trash to a designated dumpster. My parents are not receiving the level of assistance we were told they'd receive, but unfortunately, there is no other facility nearby that fits our budget.

4 we have been well pleased with her care, with the nurses and the aids. I would say my only negative is that I have had to clean her bathroom when I have been there. That's not the end of the world. Overall we have been well pleased

First of all, the staff is so kind — they truly make you feel like family. You can tell they genuinely enjoy what they do, and that makes such a difference. The food is wonderful. They have several ladies in the kitchen along with a chef, and everything is amazing. We’ve always had a great experience with the meals. Any time my brother has needed help, whether from maintenance or housekeeping, someone has been there right away. We’ve never had any issues getting assistance. This is an affordable senior living community, and they are constantly planning activities. There’s always something going on — outings to eat on the bus, events, and fun things to do. It’s especially nice for independent living because there’s so much to offer. Most importantly, it feels safe. That’s what matters most to me. I truly feel like my brother is in a safe place. We’ve all become good friends here, and we have a lot of fun together. The food is great, the people are wonderful, and it really feels like home.

My daughter and I have moved into a 2 bedroom independent living community. We prepare our own meals. Three days a week we have community activities. We have a movie on Sunday night, sometime with pizza. Bingo, crafts, and other assorted games. We are both happy.

The staff is very helpful and readily available. There are many activities to attend. The food is quite good and the dining room is set up to sit in groups of 5 to 6 people, which allows for easy interactions sharing the meal. There are many rooms to accommodate group activities, or personal quiet time. There is a large lounge with a fireplace and a sunroom attached, there is a well stocked library, laundry room. There is an exercise room with a physical therapist available, an on- site hair salon and a full size pool. The entire facility is well maintained and clean.

The staff and management were very helpful and friendly. They worked with us to get the apartment set up and ready for my daughter's arrival. They went above and beyond to help her get settled in. I'm happy to recommend them.

I've been happier here than I ever was at Asher Point! I have the ability to cook again. I know that some people aren't able to do that anymore but I can and love doing it. Also they have a gym which I use at least 3 times a week. I've only been here 6 weeks and I have already lost 14 pounds. They advertise that they have a gym at Asher Point and they do. The problem is NOTHING works in it. I complained and complained about it and nothing ever happened for 2 years!! I really wish I had of found Gordon Oaks sooner!

He lost so much weight that they said they had to discharge him. Depressing environment and probably underpaid and unmotivated. Probably a "get what you pay for" scenario as the cost was at the bottom of the range. Obviously no money going into upgrades.
