They offer a variety of activities and weekly outings that keep residents engaged. The facility is always clean, and unlike some others I've visited, I've never noticed any unpleasant odors. The cost is also a bit more affordable than comparable places, which is especially helpful when living on a fixed income.

I want to express my sincere gratitude for the awesome care and support our mom has received at Jefferson. Your marketer went above and beyond to help us convince mom to give Jefferson a try. Before coming to Jefferson, she was mostly sleeping and watching TV at home. Now we are so happy to see her smiling and enjoying her time with the new friends she has made.

When we found it necessary to find a new place for our 102-year old mother to call home and receive the care she needed… we were all the way in Nebraska! We knew it had to be somewhere special. A prayerful Google search led us to Highlands, and from the first call (and many FaceTimes), we felt peace. [name removed] made the long-distance move feel personal and full of heart. Of course, every journey has its ups and downs, but working together with the staff made it possible. We recently visited for her 103rd birthday, and we were welcomed like family. They threw her a party fit for a queen, mayor, and all! While the decision was hard, Highlands has wrapped this chapter of our mother's life in grace, kindness, and Southern charm. She’s not just safe, she’s celebrated. And that has made all the difference.

Considers your love ones' needs, open to communication as a means for best care, willing to modify and change personal care plan as needed when resident's health requires such, a personal camera in residents room is allowed with family agreement to follow facility regulations, Highlands will pull multiple staff together when needed to accommodate care of residents for example if a two person assist is part of care plan.

Everyone there was so friendly and helpful. They always tried to include dad in anything that was going on. Any issues that would arise were quickly handled by a short conversation with administration. We are very appreciative of the help they provided for my dad.

When my mother-in went in in November 2024, they were in the middle of growing their filled rooms by about 50%. They were understaffed and their service reflected that. That was, however, a big factor in difficulties encountered during the first month of her onboarding.

Highlands Senior living is a great place. It’s hard leaving your loved ones because you want to be able to take care of them, but this is a place like home. They treat their residence with great respect and give them a familiar place to call home. The staff and director listen and provide great care for my parents. Any questions I have at any time are always answered and I trust that my parents are getting the best care they can get.

We picked this community, because of the of the price and it was really close to where I live. Also, they were allowing small pets. They feed you a big line when you go there to view it. After being there a couple weeks, you see through all the smoke and mirrors.They kept blaming the fact that they couldn't find any help. They were very short staffed one night I went there, and the nurse on duty was chatting with one of the girls sitting in the office. didn't look to me like they were out, doing rounds and giving meds out.

The reason for the 4s was due to Covid. They had a large turnover when the government (taxpayers) started paying people to stay home who were "afraid" to work in the health field. Prior to that, it was all 5s, but it was never quite the same after. They were short handed much of the time. The administration and office staff are super! Most of the CNAs love the residents and their jobs. My mom passed away in April, but I visited frequently while she was there. No matter what facility you choose, if you are a frequent visitor and get to know the staff, your loved one will get the best treatment.

Experience was awful, and traumatic. Staff lacks training with dementia. You can't ask a person with dementia anything like would you like to take a shower. Have to say let's get you in the shower, use pleasant but firm voice.Brought meals to her even though I'd emphasized need to walk her to dining hall for meals. I moved her. So disappointing since price and room were good. I would not recommend Jackson Oaks unless it has changed tremendously.

My loved one is a resident at Jackson Oaks Senior Living. There's been a big turnover in staff, so I rated all at a 4 instead of a 5 due to that. Otherwise, I have found the staff at this facility friendly and courteous.

The caring staff, life stations, activities and engagement of the professionals here are reassuring and a blessing. They even have pet therapy! Even with the burst pipes after the big freeze last month is testament to their “All hands on deck” teamwork while providing great care.

All of the staff was very friendly. My loved one loved the food. She didn't participate in the activities, so I can't rate those. She had bugs in her room, but she also ate her meals in her room. My suggestion for improvement would be better clinical skills (I'm a retired nurse so I pick up on their lack of knowledge), but I realize that's an issue with all facilities.

Once again NO hot water !! It continues , never know if you can take a shower. Nothing changes or improves. It’s cold this morning and I would like to take a shower. Not only affects showers, it affects washing clothes and doing dishes.

Staff go through your rooms when you are not there. I have lost money that I hid. There are a few staff who are WONDERFUL. But others who are lazy and treat you poorly.

They bring people in to give the residents to give them cognitive test. The staff here seem to know a lot about the industry. There is always someone to answer questions and they are very friendly and cooperative. I would for sure recommend this community over some of the others that I have seen. They are having some maintenance shortages but I think that this is the same for everyone with staff.
