The difference was noted immediately - staff ratio is excellent, every caregiver understands memory care, creating an environment of love, family and understanding. I never saw my Dad in his room, he was always out with others, engaging when he could always clean, dressed and respected. At previous location, we were told my Dad's behaviors were a problem. At homestead, his behaviors remained challenging, but they were never considered a problem. Homestead viewed his dementia as a way of understanding where a person is at, and how best to respect and support that. At end of life, they worked seamlessly with Hospice for a peaceful passing. <p>Encircled by beautiful trees across the expansive yard, residents can enjoy the picturesque surroundings when stepping out for a breath of fresh air. Also, located less than a five-minute drive away, residents have many parks and other entertainment options in the nearby city. Off-site trips are a regular favorite of residents.</p>
<h3>Community Amenities and Services </h3>
<p>The friendly staff tirelessly works to enhance, increase, develop, and refine their approach to memory care by listening to and learning from each resident. Over the years, the home has added multiple services to maximize the care available to residents. The staff provides 24-hour care to help ensure residents’ safety. Caregivers happily offer complete assistance with daily living activities, regularly evaluated and updated individualized care plans, medication administration, and more. The home coordinates with each resident’s family and medical team to provide proper health care. Additionally, the on-site registered nurses are readily available to assist residents.</p>
<p>The medium size allows plenty of opportunities for residents to build lasting relationships with staff and one another. To properly engage residents, Homestead Living offers several on-site programs organized by the activity director. They offer cognitive activities including art therapy, pet therapy, and musical programming. The home also offers several social activities and religious services. To help residents maintain their optimal health, we offer three tasty, nutritious meals and snacks daily. Special diets can be happily accommodated upon request. Salon services are also available to help residents always look their personal best.</p>
