I appreciate the variety of activities, the quality of the food, and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. One area for improvement would be providing more one-on-one contact with new clients during their first few weeks. This thoughtfully designed senior living community features classic homestyle architecture and a sprawling front porch with lovely rocking chairs. Lititz, Pennsylvania, is a quaint and richly historical district in Lancaster County, adjacent to peaceful Amish country. Tucked into a quiet neighborhood, the community retains convenient access to medical centers, shopping, and dining.
Community members have many spacious and inviting pet-friendly apartments to choose from, with private baths, walk-in showers, and convenient kitchenettes in the assisted living apartments. Each resident is offered a personalized care plan so their needs and preferences are prioritized at all times. The community’s compassionate care staff are available to offer support with activities of daily living and a range of other personal support. The home also offers a professional memory support care unit for residents in need of cognitive support.
Community members can receive on-demand support from the home’s Personal Wellness Suite, or visit the spa for a relaxing whirlpool bath. The staff is very caring and use best methods to assure residents and show concern them. There are regular activities to encourage group participation. The food is nutritious and presented attractively. Staff is very observant offering more food if residents finished quickly, offering additional servings if desired. They are observant if residents finish quickly, offering additional servings. Conversely, if residents are not eating, encouraging eating, but, of course not forcing. Suites are larger than comparable care facilities, both bedrooms and private baths. Medical staff is excellent. Communication with family members is well handled. The building is well managed and very clean having most attractive interior and pleasant outdoor areas for residents. Highest recommendation.

Legend of Lititz is a very nice place, all the staff there are very nice, friendly and helpful. My dad is very happy there. I would suggest that other families may find Legend of Lititz a good place for their love ones.

Legend of Lititz is a wonderful environment, staffed with caring professionals, active residents, and a beautiful home setting. My mother has adapted to her new lifestyle and we can breathe easier knowing she is well- cared for and treated with respect.

Make certain that the patient DOES get reassessed every 30 days, as they had initially stated would happen. It did not which is why our mother needed to go to another facility.

Facility is good. Rooms are set up for accessibility but there are maintenance problems with plumbing and ill-draining shower. Common areas are clean and well maintained. They are consistently understaffed. The cleaning crew does a poor job of cleaning the rooms, medication delivery is late most days. Staff does not address issues in a timely manner.

[name removed] is happy their, but she is bored. She enjoys the food that is served and the staff seems to be very kind to her. Apparently all medical is done thru UPMC. Let me know if that is correct because her son is saying he is getting billed for portions of her medicine and he says she is not being seen by an LGH provider. Please let me know if that is correct and has she been seen by a family doctor since she has been there

We chose Legen of Lititz because of the cleanliness, proximity to my house, and availability of space. The first day- onboarding process needs work. They need a process: I brought her into her room and then had to flag down an aide to take over. I felt like I was abandoning her- no good transfer. The facility did recommend that no one visit her for a few days, which makes sense but the hand- off could have been much better.

The facility staff has improved significantly over the last few months. My mother seems quite happy in their memory care unit. I feel very confident that she is in a safe place that keeps her engaged in activities. Rooms in memory care are on the medium size. My mother is in a double so she has a roommate and they share a bathroom. That arrangement seems to work well for my mother. I'm able to sleep again knowing my mother is well cared for and happy.

My siblings and I have been very pleased with Legend of Lititz. The tours of the facility, meeting some of the staff, and the very homey atmosphere made Mom less worried and fearful about leaving her home. She loves that it is all on one floor-no stairs or elevators. Lots of screened in porches and outdoor patios to sit and look at the beautiful flowers. A very quiet and caring atmosphere for Mom has also been great.

I will give APFM a 5 as well. It is a great service to families needing to make a change and it did not cost anything out of pocket. My loved one complained about the meals everywhere she went but I never had a bad one. Just not how she used to prepare meals! At 99 years old she did not want to participate. I think it was lovely and well maintained. I really appreciated them recommending hospice towards the end.

The staff are always changing. Definitely a revolving door over there. My mother was given the wrong meds, left unattended for hours after she rang for them. She was also given a suppository one time when she wasn't even constipated. I could go on about this. Most meals were liked by our mother. She did not participate in any activities. Finally, the care is not worth the money spent. I guess there are worse places, but that is not the point. Half the time the left doesn't know what the right is doing and I blame that on staffing. The manager was recently fired, which should have been done a long time ago! We asked for something as simple as a sliding door glide be fixed months ago as it is a safety hazard for my mother and it has not been fixed yet. Some employees do care and it shows, but for the most part, the place is like a circus although no clowns and it definitely isn't funny.

Staff is friendly & helpful. You are always greeted with a smile. Unfortunately, there is a lot of staff turnover and staff shortages which causes difficulty when trying to work through medical needs that arise. Room sizes and amenities that are offered to the residents in assisted living are excellent.
