We have frequent family meetings with open lines of communication. Aids are attentive to dad's needs but I find that there is often not enough coverage, especially on the weekends. Because of this, Dad has a private aid 4-5 days a week. There has been a lot of turnover with the managing director of Maplewood Southport. I don't think there is a director now. 2nd floor memory care: Over the past 1.5 years, there has been several changes in the amount of activities and with the activities director. I think Maplewood finally has a handle on what is needed for the 2nd floor. The residents seem to be involved and happy. Hands on activities/games, exercise, off campus trips 2-3x week and live music on the weekends. There has been more integration between the floors.
