Pleased with our experience

My experience there in Temple has been amazing. My brother is happy and that he's pleased with the food. He's pleased with the cleanliness. He's also well pleased with the staff for checking on him and giving him inside on what's going on with the upcoming events and most of all they keep the family informed if there's anything or they haven't seen him come up for a meal or out of his room so yes, I'm very well pleased

Review for Morada Temple

The food is bad and the rent is too high. I don't care about the activities. Mine is probably no bigger than five hundred square feet for [price removed] a month not big enough for a small dinning table would not recommend this place. The staff is ok.

My visit was via the internet so was limited in both coverage and ability to interact. It was informative and is a good basis for a visit by my daughter later this month.

We were looking for a place where Mom would be safe, welcomed, cared for, ragged and active. The Morada has met all those requirements and some. I believe it is a great value for the price...mom is quite happy there and tells everyone she meets...

Dad loves it at Morada, best move he's ever made!

All 5s! And [name removed] was so helpful. [name removed] really loves it there and is flourishing. The residents are all so friendly and gracious. Every time I visit my father in law he talks about meeting a new friend. He loved living with us but he is very social and Temple doesn't have a senior activity center so he was extremely bored. Morada has so many activities daily that he doesn't miss living with us and is actually thriving and more active than he has ever been!

Staff friendly. Several of the supervisors personally introduced themselves in the middle of the process. Great amenities to serve my health needs - walk in shower, handicap accessible with grab bars. Excellent cottage with washer/dryer and trash container nearby. Meals provided. Daily activities to enable me to meet other residents.

We took my Mother to Morada through [removed] [date removed]so I could have a 5 day break. Mom suffers from dementia and we were called back to pick her up within less than 5 hours. I understand it was for Moms safety, but when I called the next day to see exactly what happened, the nice lady that helped admit her was very rude, as I was trying to ask questions about the whole terrible ordeal. She actually said she cant help that someone else told us something different than what she did. Total different attitude!!!! Everyone was nice when we were admitting her. I am sorry Mom pushed or hit an employee. I understand, because 2 people undressed her and showered her. My Mom was probably scared to death!!! While admitting her the family and friend that went told the employees, [removed] is still going to shower my Mom. I wanted to feel better about this facility and calling to get answers about our experience made it worse! Very tired and disappointed daughter

It could be great.

My mother has lived through a rat infestation and is currently in an almost evacuation situation bc they have a gas leak that they can't seem to locate. The dining room is closed and they're being served cold sandwiches. She is also having to take cold showers. The problem is indefinite so possibly 2-3 weeks with these conditions.

Review for Morada Temple

I was happy with the facility the first month they were there then as I got more involved in things I found that they were not very attentive. I emailed the business manager numerous times trying to get parents billing set up on auto pay and I ended up having to physically come in to the office to get a reply. Keep in mind I live in Indiana and had to travel to check on them in Texas. They had a $250 late fee for paying their bill on the fifth instead of the first no grace period. When I talked to the business manager, she said it's unfortunate that we were billed but it takes an act of God to refund a late fee from the main office. Well, no act of God happened and we were never refunded that $250 fee even though I had a number of emails, asking for her help, Although it is an independent living environment, there were times they could have offered assistance, but did not. For example, when they moved in the dining room was set up with table service a few months later they went to cafeteria style. My dad was in a wheelchair, could not manipulate the tray and moving himself to the table when he asked for assistance, they said to ask your wife to help you. Also as their needs became greater The staff recognized that independent living was becoming a challenge for them. They didn't notify any family members or agencies that they should go to an assisted living center. My dad had a terrible cold for two weeks and We did not become aware of it until he had pneumonia. My sister that was in town had gone on vacation and when she came back, he was very sick. I was out of state and when I called to check on him, he and my mom both said that he was fine. One of the CNA's from an outside agency saw me when I was moving his things out of the apartment .She helped the woman in the apartment next-door and she told me that she memtioned that someone should check on him.He clearly was not fine.He passed away June 2023. Overall, it was a terrible experience, but it's not fair for me to give them a 1 because most of the staff was kind and helpful but but the management was hideous.

Nightmare

When [name removed] was the director, The Morada was a caring and compassionate senior living facility. Under [name removed], things have declined and my mom begged me to find her another place to live. This along with her medical needs led us to a better place for her. We notified with a phone call that she would be moving out. The staff tried to pressure my mom to stay and made her feel extremely uncomfortable. When I called to try and get final bill, I was told I didn't complete the form so it would be another 30 days. We completed form and moved her to an actual assisted living facility and then were told we would have to pay the whole of the lease because he felt they were just as good as an assisted living facility. It all came down to getting as much money as he could out of my mom. She has limited funds and extensive medical needs. Getting her out of there has cost her greatly. I do not recommend the morada in Temple, Texas.

It is a good place. I would recommend. I wish they had someone at the desk later in the day (after six). I can't make it over until after work and the front door is locked and I have to use a key at a side door. It's frustrating.

Knowledgeable accounting personnel needed. Our bill has been incorrect since May 2023. The new director was made aware, but has failed to help. Housekeepers do the minimum. Needed assistance moving in, none was offered. Can take up to 1.5 hours to get a meal. Very understaffed kitchen and dining. Food is not as advertised. I like this facility and [name removed]. The tenants are happy and friendly. I would recommend to a friend for that reason.

Great staff, bad management

One of my biggest complaints is we needed it to be an assisted living center to qualify for long term care and I feel as though they misrepresented themselves. If you look online it says assisted living and when I was going through the tour someone told me it was assisted living. When I was going through insurance it said it was not - so I felt that was misrepresented. We will end up having to move them again because of that. The people are great its just the administration that has been bad. Every month I have to contact the business manager - we are given late fees and they are telling us they are not receiving payments. It is very frustrating. It is also very hard to get a hold of anyone, they don't respond emails or call back. The facility and the staff members are great, but the business end of things is not so great.
