Decent but room for improvement.

We are overall pretty happy. The only complaint is that they do not stick to the bathing schedule. I have to get onto them to make sure she gets bathed. The new person in charge said that is not okay and she will be addressing that.

Positive experience. Everyone was friendly. Process was smooth and well explained. My mom loves the activities, and the house living lifestyle. Place is very clean and the food is good. Overall very happy with the decision thus far. I would recommend them to others who are searching for senior living for their loved one.

Don't be fooled

It will always stay the same. I only left my husband there for 6 days before I moved him. It sounds good in the beginning and the price and it was close to my home but I would, NEVER recommend it. The caregivers are not qualified and do very little caregiving. They are also required to do the cooking, etc. No wonder it's hard to keep help. There was 1 nurse for all 5 houses and she was not always on site. [name removed] was really the only good thing about Mustang Creek.

Friendly staff

The care services is a 3 only because my mom is high needs and is really more than they are designed for not really a knock on them. The daytime staff has always been very friendly and helpful. The activity director is so cute and really works hard to have a variety of things for the residents. The director has been good about responding and addressing needs and questions. They are up front and honest with their communication.

Mustang Creek Estates Frisco

My brother lived at this facility for about eight months. During that time, there were some significant management changes, including the departure of the executive director and a high level of staff turnover in the last few months of his stay. Despite those challenges, the acting directors from the corporate office were responsive, efficient, and worked to address concerns as they arose. The facility was consistently very clean, and overall the care and services provided met expectations. My brother did not participate in the activities program, so I cannot comment on that aspect of the community. From a value perspective, the all-inclusive pricing includes many services and amenities, which may make it a good option for some families. However, in our search we found another established community in Farmers Branch with more stable staffing and a lower cost. I would likely have moved my brother there had I not decided to bring him to Tennessee to live closer to me. Since relocating, he has moved into an Americare facility and is much happier. Overall, our experience at this community was mixed, with strengths in cleanliness and responsiveness but concerns about management stability and staff turnover. Families considering this facility may want to compare it with other options in the area before making a decision.

Great facility overall and very clean. The activities available for residents do not seem to be widely promoted, which is unfortunate. There also appears to be a high amount of staff turnover. Most staff members I’ve encountered have been amazing and caring, though I did witness one employee making fun of residents, which was disappointing. Communication could also be clearer regarding how often residents receive assistance with showering and laundry services.

Poor experience

Overall experience was poor at best. The quality of care and the admin side is poor...way too much turnover in staff. Food service was sketchy and wasn't provided on a regular basis. Too much is asked of the staff members who show for work. I would not recommend to others. Way too expensive for this experience.

My Grandfather is at this community he loves it, I visited him recently; he was happy with the care and loves the managers and staff. He was pleased with the activities they offer and couldn't wait to go to the next bingo. I would recommend this community for your loved ones.

Review for Mustang Creek Estates Frisco

Mustang Creek Estates in Frisco provides a safe haven for your loved ones. Rather than one big facility, it is divided into family-like cottages where residents are grouped in accordance to their needs and abilities. The staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are adequately sized and the cottages are kept clean and inviting. I especially liked the all inclusive pricing for each level of care. You aren't blindsided with multiple fees that can dramatically increase the monthly cost.

Would not ever recommend

From the directors to the staff they have major problems. It all starts at the top. I felt like they were more interested in the bottom dollar than in the people themselves. They have no activities. Most of the residents stay in their rooms all day long. They can't ever get enough staff to give proper care. My mother would lay in her own excrement for hours before I could get someone to help her. The food was horrible because the staff didn't know how to cook. The rooms were kind of small but not bad.

They are set up like a small neighborhood. Residents are able to walk outside safely. The meals are cooked in each house for the people. It was cool to see a musical performer entertaining over 20 residents. They were all happy and the house smelled really good.

Our experience

Although my sister and I highly recommend that facility be removed from your list until a formal investigation of some kind can be done to ensure the residents are being properly cared for and everyone on staff is trained. They could improve on everything.

The lack of activities was real! The food was atrocious. The girls they hire are not trained to do the jobs they require of them - thus the food. I saw many of the meals as well as visits with the residents. [name removed] who I had the most contact with from the beginning, was wonderful. I only wish the facility (which had promise), had lived up to my hopes.

A daughter’s review

The staff was very nice and I truly believe they cared a great deal for my mom however mom was on a no salt diet and I don’t think they were equipped to follow that type of diet. During her short stay there they were having staffing issues so there was no activity director as well as no TV in the living areas for most of her stay. If they take care of a few things I believe they could be a great option in the Frisco area

HORRIBLE PLACE TO PUT YOUR LOVED ONE

I moved my mother into MC in September and out in November. The care was horrendous and it was dirty and smelled. My mother’s bathroom toilet was covered in ?? and so was her floor. She fell and cut her head open, it took them 4 days to clean the blood from her walls, bed and floor, I called the director daily to get them to clean it. My mom has dementia, I was told by the director and staff they did not have the time to care for her, I needed to hire a sitter to stay with her throughout the day - that’s what I hired them to do. The brand new mattress I purchased for her was ruined in less than two months because staff took the mattress cover off, put it in the closet. I had to throw the mattress away. I moved her out in the middle of the month and they are insisting I pay the full 30 days rent because that’s what I agreed to. I had no choice but to move her out due to the lack of care she received . They are not responsive to email or calls. Worst experience. I could go on and on
