[name removeed]is an outstanding ED. She was ED at MorningStar at Bear Creek before and built up an excellent team having that place running very well and was extremely supportive of families. She has only been here a short time and hasn't been able to make the necessary changes yet, but I know she will. That said, as it stands now, this is not yet the place for my sister. The place is divided into 3 separate cottages. There are no covered walkways between buildings. The circular hallways would be great for walkers. The rooms have a good built in closets and shelves. The bathrooms include a shower area that doesn't require any stepping in. The floor is flat into the shower. There is a short shower curtain around the shower area. Not sure if that would make it cold for the resident.sd I didn't notice a heat light in there. There is a 24/7 on site RN or LPN. No other place I've looked at has that. They will train with Teepa Snow guidelines once [name removeed] is up and running. The 3 cottages have 16 max per cottage. Cottage ! had 4 people, B has 14ish and C (most needy) has 12 I think. There wasn't much going on when I visited. They were watching TV, which I know is going to be a no-no going forward. Activities are huge for [name removeed] and she will make sure all residents are engaged.

The community is close for me to see my loved one. New Dawn hasn't had any cases of COVID. I think they must be doing something correct. The had a lot of encouragement for the residents to participate in for activities. Bingo was a huge hit for the residents prior to the pandemic. They have all type of care services for residents. The campus has three buildings to assist with care.

Horrible staff. Horrible care. Lost glasses, missing closes. Constant turnover of staff. Shift changes have no turnover information. Poor staff communication.

Compassionate care was the number one criteria in choosing a facility for our loved one. New Dawn was highly recommended to our family & we quickly found that this is what New Dawn does best. They give compassionate care. The ppl that work at New Dawn work very hard at it. They are extremely kind, thoughtful, patient and diligent. I have watched how they treat all the residents with genuine love & concern. The care needed & given is consistent & expertly done. They staff works together, doing whatever is needed, as soon as it’s needed. They are TRUE CARE GIVERS. Our loved one enjoys the generous attention given & also the good variety of healthy food at each meal. We plan to have our loved one at New Dawn as long as the days given. With so many facilities out there to choose from, we feel extremely blessed to have been directed to New Dawn. Sincerely.... [name removed]

The community appears to meet with all of mom's needs and is convenient to her current medical team. However, the cost is beyond what she could afford even with the approval of the full VA spousal benefit.

My sister and I recently moved our Mom here after a disastrous experience at another IL/AL/Memory Care combo facility. We toured 10 different properties before we picked New Dawn. Mom suffers from Lewy Body Dementia and thrives better in a smaller place. Our Mom continues to thank us for moving her to "such a beautiful house where the food is good and the staff are very caring and extremely kind." She loves the activities and the coziness of the community. It's not too big and overwhelming for her so she doesn't get 'lost in the shuffle'. We love their COTTAGE concept: the private room/full bathroom is where you sleep & shower and the REST of the building is your home (living room, dining room, kitchen) to wander anywhere or participate in fun activities. We also LOVE that the staff is always available and not far away from any one room at this 16 room cottage. Go visit this wonderful community!

Not the best experience. We moved our loved one after less than a month. They don't do what they say they're going to do. The number of things that either didn't happen that they said would, or that happened that they said wouldn't are too numerous to count. Very disappointing. Happy to say things are MUCH better where we are now.

I am very pleased with the care at New Dawn Colorado Springs for my loved one. The culture in any facility starts with the Director and leadership team, and they set the standard for how the staff is trained. I have encountered very caring staff who take pride in knowing little things about each resident to personalize their care. The food is better than other places I have been, and they welcome family members to eat with their loved one. I have experienced an open door policy to talk to the leadership team any time I had questions or concerns. I recommend this facility for anyone needing help with a loved one, and have peace of mind about the care if I am not able to visit for several days.

It's sad to see negative reviews of this facility. New Dawn Memory Care has been nothing but amazing to my family and my loved one. The management team has gone out of their way to make certain that my family and my loved one is well taken care of. The attention to detail that you get from [Removed] the Executive director and [Removed] the Director of Marketing is superb and beyond exceptional. After reading the reviews and touring other facilities there are special meals designed for Alzheimer's and Dementia patients. New Dawn does offer amenities that are unlike any other community My family and I have toured. You do feel some transitioning, but it feels like it is for the better. Out with the old and in with the new. Keep up the great work New Dawn Memory Care and to the whole team. Thanks for being such great advocates for the Community you are a part of, that my family and I are appreciative of.

It's kind of funny how all the people who work there complain of management and how things are run. The residents don't even get a choice at meal time! They are given one menu choice only and that's it. 18 year old kids with no experience are even hired from working at KFC to caring for your loved ones at the cost of $6-$8 grand a month ha!

I would like to say that New Dawn Memory Care team is absolutely amazing. They really take in consideration people's feelings and what it will take to make everyone happy. On a more honest note i would like to say that I think there are some changes they could make to there nursing team but overall I am very pleased with the care my father has received and the lengths that the management team goes to make it an easy transition for both the family and patient. I cannot imagine putting my father anywhere else.

The care that your loved ones get is outstanding. the management team and care staff help in every way possible to make sure you and your loved ones get what they need. Don't go here there activities manager is terrible, everytime I go in I see her yelling at her staff and never engaging the residents, they always seem to be doing the same boring thing. Don't come here

I recently toured this community and was amazed! The staff were so friendly and all residents were invoved in activities the whole two hours I was there. The staff were so loving to the residents. The state of the art GPS tracking devises used for residnet safety and staff accountability were truly astounding! Just brilliant. Looking forward to my second tour with the rest of my family. Very Nice New Dawn!
