Okalee is a comfortable, homey place unlike several others I visited. The building is full of light and attention to detail, and the residents are friendly and cheerful. The food alternates between wonderful and mundane. The natural setting of marsh, ponds, and trees offsets the sound of trains and the background hum of highway traffic. The building itself is quiet. No sound between apartments that I can tell. Flaws are the expansive windows that could/should have a higher insulation rating. The individual heating systems pull outside air and at least in our apartment can’t satisfy the thermostat setting on really cold days.
