Loved one of resident/client

5.0 out of 5 stars

My loved one is in a good place

This is an older facility, but they take good care of my loved one. There aren't too many residents, which I think allows for more time to give my loved one the care and attention that she needs. The staff is very attentive to her needs, they pay attention to what is going on with her. They've called me about concerns, as needed. They communicate with me immediately about any changes or concerns. They don't seem to have many activities, but also the residents here aren't really the type to be willing to participate in activities. I know that my loved one is not. The residents here are mostly inactive, though the staff does interact and visit with them. Overall, my loved one is taken care of and I don't have to worry about that. Depending on needs, I would recommend this facility to family and friends. If you have someone who needs taken care of, but activities and things aren't important, this facility would be a good option.

Review for Pine Tree Place

Staff got better right before mom had to leave, because cost got prohibitive. Food was average. It was decently clean. They were pretty good with her care. There were activities here and there. But it was not a bad facility because of how small it was. It was just very expensive when new owners came in.

Disgrace

Stay far away from this place. Our family had money stolen from their purse. Cameras for security do not work. Bathroom floors are stained, wallpaper peeling off the wall. Administrator [name removed] brings her son in runs all over the place disturbing the residents. Front door fails to lock properly. Never was fixed, Numerous complaints and possible violations with the health dept. I strongly suggest you contact the health dept and BBB before moving forward with this place. Only good reviews come from the employees only place I know that fires their employees and rehires them back. That should tell you something right there. Toxic environment I will not rate this place it doesn’t deserve anything except to be shutdown. PERIOD!!

The Best CareGiver Pine Tree hss Seen.

In the time that I had my mom at Pine Tree Place, [name removed]., was the best caregiver there. She truly cared about the residents. She would check on them, help them in the bathroom, or just say," Hello." If I left a note for my mom for a doctor's appointment, [name removed] always had her ready down to her shoes. In fact, I tried to get [name removed] a job with The Waterford School District as a para professional, but she had another job. She's kind, caring, bright, friendly, and very professional. She should serve as an inspiration to anyone. She worked many double shifts when other colleagues/ staff would call in sick. I never worried about my mom when she was on duty, I felt my mom as safe and in good hands. I appreciate all of her hard work. She took wonderful care of the residents. I would sing her praises anywhere anytime. She is an asset to any place of employment.

Tips for evaluating your community options.

Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Assisted Living. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:

  • Know Michigan’s regulations for memory care. Each state has its own laws and inspection processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the communities you’re considering. Learn more about Michigan’s regulations for memory care and download the Guide to Senior Living Licensure and Inspection Reports.

  • Tour the location. Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and it helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Confirm the availability of required services. Before committing, make sure that the community offers all the services your loved one needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.
