Renaissance Care Home at Neuse River Estates

While the owners and staff were nice, I found the entry process to be disorganized and confusing. It felt like there was a lack of communication which led to confusion about medications and questions about care. I thought being in a smaller community would create a closer connection for my parent but that was not the case. While it may be a good fit for others, it was extremely expensive and not a good fit for us.

We appreciate you for giving us the opportunity to serve your parents and we regret your bad experience. Thank you for acknowledging that the owners and staff are nice. A major part of Renaissance Care Home success is abiding by state rules. All medication must be given as prescribed; a family cannot choose to provide 2 tablets of 300mg Tylenol and expect Renaissance Care Home to give it for an order of 500mg. Families have the flexibility to do as they choose to at their homes, but NOT at a properly managed care home that is subject to regulations for your loved ones best interest. Also, if changes had to be made to the FL2, the expectation is for the primary care physician to make the changes and sign it, the resident loved one cannot edit it and turn it into the facility. Incorrect FL2 delays admission like it did for your mom. At Renaissance Care Home our goal is to provide a safe wonderful environment for your loved ones, fortunately or unfortunately, we cannot disregard the rules and risk your loved one safety. We did our best to explain the rules on some of the examples above, I personally went to multiple stores to buy the specific color of 500mg Tylenol that your dad preferred. I understand your choice to be anonymous, and I will respect your privacy, your parents are the second husband and wife couple we have served, and we received excellent feedback from the other family. I truly apologize that I was not very effective in explaining the state rules to you.
