The Bellaire is nestled in a peaceful residential neighborhood just west of the Detroit River. Beautifully renovated in 2018, The Bellaire offers spacious private apartments for independent and assisted living. The community’s friendly and caring staff are available 24 hours a day to offer support, while still honoring the independence that each community member cherishes.
The Bellaire offers a welcoming family environment. Residents of the Bellaire can enjoy the home’s lush and warmly decorated library with large-screen tv for movie viewings, or enjoy a beverage on the beautiful patio or underneath the gazebo. The home is conveniently close to local shopping and rehabilitation centers. The community staff offer maintenance services, as well as laundry and linen services. Each private one-bedroom, studio, or shared apartment contains a kitchenette for the residents’ convenience.
Among the community’s wonderful amenities are three meals served fresh daily, with adaptations for food sensitivities. The staff offer activities, crafts, and exercise programs seven days per week. Residents can take weekly shopping trips in the Riverview community. Staff are on-site around the clock to offer medication management and support with activities of daily living as needed.

I would not recommend the memory care unit at Bellaire Senior Living. During my mother's stay, we frequently had difficulty locating staff on her floor despite being told coverage was available 24/7. We also witnessed concerning issues with medication handling and meal service, including occasions where my mother was not brought meals unless we specifically asked. Our family visited often and observed repeated problems with communication, supervision, and how behavioral outbursts related to dementia were managed. Rather than receiving appropriate support, situations were often escalated in ways that caused additional stress for our mother and family. When concerns were brought to management, we felt they were largely dismissed unless we provided photo or video evidence. Ultimately, we chose to move our mother to another facility. I encourage families considering memory care to ask detailed questions, visit frequently, and closely monitor the level of care being provided.

[name removed] and [name removed] have been phenomenal and very patient throughout the transition from home and hospital into assisted living. Their communication with the family has been second to none. The variety and flavor of the food could be better.

The move in was easy after 5 weeks Bellaire said she had to go to memory care up stairs smaller unit and she needed Passion Care which runs [removed] a month more. There were no discounts for not giving medicine or her baths. They check on her hourly and take her to meals. The woman working at Passion Care works part time and is always too busy to help my brother with paperwork takes days for her to do one paper.

-lack of care for the memory care wings - Make sure the resident get they meals daily, since they don't take Memory Care Residents down to the dinning room. -Not leaving meds out on the common area tables so the staff can go out to smoke -daily hygiene was not addressed. We had to point out that her skin was raw on her belly and they said oh we didn't see that. Well, you would have if you changed her and bathe her she was not bedridden - nasty attitudes toward family and resident I actually tried reporting them to the state of Michigan due to lack of care for my mother with Alzheimer's and I was told that they're not regulated by the state therefore there's nothing in the State can do. I was an advocate for my mother and I feel like I've failed her by allowing her to stay there for the month that I did. The memory care should be shut down. I'm not normally want to complain honestly, but this place has given me many sleepless nights and the guilt. I feel by leaving my mom. There has been hard since her passing. I would hope that you never recommend this place to anyone that comes to you for advice on where to place a loved one we moved our mother to [community removed], which I highly recommend five star, loving, caring, and clean. When hospice was called in, they were amazing. I opted for home health hospice so that my mom could be with me during her final days. Best decision I ever made. I will be contacting my local representative to ask that these facilities be held more responsible for their actions on how they care for the elderly with Alzheimer's.

Staff was warm, outgoing, professional at all times and they all have been great all the workers all the kitchen help. Everyone has assist us in anything that we've needed, and they have also assisted [name removed] with his needs and getting him more acclimated to his surroundings and the facility.

care services is a 5 but he only had care for 1 month. they were awesome! They even sent me pictures to let me know he attended a music event. my dad said the food was very good. they have activities, but I think they need more guy things for the men. it is one of the best priced places around, much less expensive than many I looked at downriver. The owners take pride in having a nice facility, the grounds are all maintained and lots of flowers planted. There is a nice gazebo outside with chairs for the people to get out and enjoy some fresh air. I can't say enough good things about the Bellaire. Their admin staff is so helpful, and the caregivers are very patient and understanding. My dad was not an easy person to deal with when he first got there.

The facility is clean, modern and fresh. The signing process was effortless explained in detail with fair pricing. The dining area is fantastic. The residents are served as they were in a restaurant! It preserves their dignity. I have sampled several dishes and they were great!! I feel safe with my mother being in the memory care floor. I receive prompt responses from managers in all areas if I have a question or concern. They offer in house physicians weekly which alleviates the strain of transportation. Both [name removed] and [name removed], administration directors, are incredibly personable, genuine and attentive.

I would give them all 5s, except for Cleanliness. There is an extreme odor in the hallways - maybe the carpets need to be replaced? Also the temperature is difficult to control - it is almost always too hot in the apartment. The staff is wonderful and I think the apartment size is decent - I only looked at one other place because they were much too expensive - this one is a great price and we were lucky to get in!

My time at The Bellaire has been wonderful. I've been here 11 years, and I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. We have activities every day, entertainers that come in and sing, the staff is great, they are the most amazing ever. The food is wonderful. I love it here.

I became a resident in 2016. Since then, a number of changes have taken place for the better. The décor is easy on the eye. The food is tastier. The people are nice. And the rent is less than most places. What more can you ask for?

My mom is 93 years old with Dementia She has been at Bellaire for 6 years. Bellaire has been such a perfect place for my mom as she is very independent (she has the feeling of Independency and being cared for.) I can not say enough about all staff here at Bellaire office staff, care state, cleaning staff, activities staff all treat my mom and our family like their family. I have "peace of mind" knowing my mom is safe and cared for. (10 stars for sure)

It's nice living here. I have no issues. Friendly people. My favorite thing is Bingo. My housekeeper does my laundry on Mondays and I love it.
