The Contemporary, an independent senior living community, opened in November 2022 in Miami, FL. Our staff has over 35 years of combined experience in Senior Living, and each member has knowledge and experience in all aspects of management. The Contemporary is managed by Charter Senior Living, a family-owned senior living organization with a successful record of providing high-quality lifestyles to seniors and their families. Founded in 2016, as a senior living operator, CSL is developing high-quality Independent Living, Assisted Living/Personal Care, and Memory Care for over 45 communities across the country. <br>The Contemporary holds the Silver Certificate from the NGBS National Green Building Standard.<br>The community is centrally located in the heart of the Westchester neighborhood in Miami-Dade County. It is convenient for many cultural and outdoor amenities. The Patricia and Phillip Frost Art Museum, which features rotating exhibits and tours, and the Stocker AstroScience Center, a fully equipped, modern observatory and research center, are less than 2 miles away on the Florida International University campus. For the outdoor enthusiast, Westchester’s Tropical Park offers many amenities, including miles of paved pathways, nature trails, a bark park, and picnic areas. The Miami-Dade Library is a 5-minute walk from our community. The Westchester Cultural Art Center provides cultural programs and instruction focusing on Hispanic arts and culture. TCM is surrounded by shopping centers and local favorite restaurants. Our location connects to major roadways and is a 20-minute ride to Miami International Airport.<br><br>From indoor common areas to outdoors, The Contemporary Miami offers beautifully appointed areas for residents to enjoy. Outdoors, there’s a spectacular rooftop swimming pool and sundeck, and a walking path is designed with fitness stations. The warm, comfortable library is inviting, and our multipurpose room is transformed into a lecture room during daytime hours and a movie theater in the evening. The central Bistro is perfect for enjoying social hours and the community’s traditional coffee hours. A Salon and fully equipped fitness center are located on the community’s first floor. Dining is served in the Cielo Restaurant and Grille.<br>For peace of mind, The Contemporary offers easy access to health care services at MedSquare Place. Medsquare Place features multi-specialty medical offices, as well as Optum, a network of physicians and healthcare professionals specializing in caring for older adults.
