Loved one of resident/client

4.0 out of 5 stars

Seemed to be a smooth process. My loved one had a lot of the paperwork move in work. We would recommend the facility. The best thing is all residents can walk around the facility, they are not locked in. They get a bracelet to wear that activates alarm if they try to access outside without supervision. A nice enclosed courtyard. Staff seems nice. Food is okay, but nothing special. They have activities that my mom participates in, like an exercise class, and cream socials.

Mom loved The Grand Hills Castle!

I always thought it was a great place, and I still do. Mom loved living there. The problem is my mother passed away two months ago and first they told me I don't get her security deposit back. I had to go up to the higher levels, then they told me I do get part of her security deposit back. Still waiting on it. It's the management that does not know what each one is doing. Sad but true. No matter what has occurred since mom's death, she absolutely loved living there and that was the most important thing for us kids.

The Grand Hills Castle review

My mother loved the place and she was very happy there. My mom liked that they brought a priest for mass. She liked the activities they had and food was good. I would recommend The Grand Hill Castle to other families.

Lovely facility with many services

It is a lovely facility. They offers a lot of services. The staff provides good care. The staff in the memory care staff could use more training to help better engage the memory care residents. The layout is wonderful. The outdoor space could be larger and use a wider walking path.

Tips for evaluating your community options

Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Assisted Living. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:

  • Know Wisconsin’s regulations for memory care. Each state has its own laws and inspection processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the communities you’re considering. Learn more about Wisconsin’s regulations for memory care and download the Guide to Senior Living Licensure and Inspection Reports.

  • Tour the location. Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and it helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Confirm the availability of required services. Before committing, make sure that the community offers all the services your loved one needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.
