We were interested in a couple of houses within this park. I called to find out the requirements. We would have been paying cash for the home and space rent would not have been an issue. (We don't use credit, we pay cash for everything, if we don't have the cash for something we don't buy it!!!) Their 750-credit score requirement is non-negotiable!!! Thus, probably being the reason, they have so many homes for sale within the park. Just a heads up for anyone looking into making a purchase within this park, don't waste your time if you don't have a credit score of 750 or higher!!

Review for The Grove

The night staff is not very nice and they are lazy. Will not refund money, if A place for mom is used. They never told me that. And slipped a paper stating so that I signed. I was told I would be refunded. Would not recommend

I really would recommend Walnut Grove to anyone looking to place a loved one. I interviewed 6 places before choosing Walnut Grove for my mother. The care services have been above reproach. The staff is very hands on, very helpful and friendly. I get calls if there is a problem, they arrange for doctors appointments and I really appreciate that part of their program. The price may seem high but you get the quality you pay for in everything you do in this world. Connie, the administrator, is very hands on, she knows her job and does it expertly. And she is great with the people under her care. I must say in this review that A Place For Mom did not assist me in this endeavor, it seems that the person in Modesto was on vacation and failed to communicate with me, so I proceeded on my own and found the very best place, Walnut Grove. Have confidence in your choice if you choose to have Walnut Grove for your loved one. P.S....also I had the recommendation of my husbands cousin that her mother, in the past, was well cared for.

This is the best decision I ever made for Mom's care.

Walnut Grove has been the best decision I have made for my mother's care. In the later stages of Alzheimer's, my mother is in a warm atmosphere that does not isolate her from others. She is allowed to interact with all residents and can roam freely inside and out. I cannot say enough in words how much we appreciate Walnut Grove's philosophy for assisted care. We cared for her at home for many years, but it came time that she needed more than we were capable of. Both Mom's and our family's quality of life have improved greatly since she moved to assisted living. I have a sense of peace knowing that she is getting exactly the kind of care she needs and deserves here at Walnut Grove. Three words describe our experience with the care at Walnut Grove - dignity, love and peace.

I like the staff; they are great. They are very helpful, they're always willing to take our input, they've been helpful to us on alot of things, very pleasant to work with. The location is close to a family member, which is very helpful. It's a great value for the money.

A place for memory care

With the help of A Place For Mom we were able to find a a great home at Walnut Grove in Modesto, Ca. for my mother-in-law which has memory care. They are very nice there and have all kinds of activities to the seniors to help with their memory loss. The food looks good too.

We toured this location when we were looking into options for our loved one. This was a very nice looking community and we liked what we saw during the tour. However, the community was slightly larger than what we wanted for Mom, it would have been difficult for her to get around. A majority of the residents of the community were memory care patients, and we were looking for a more social atmosphere for Mom.

Very Happy

They're pretty damn good. My grandma has been in there 3 weeks. The care services are great. She won't do the activiteis yet, but they've got something to do everyday. The only thing they could probably improve on is I think they're just a little under-staffed. The girls that are there are very good but I think they could use one more. I'm very happy with what they've got. I've looked at a lot of places and I have to say, it's pretty damn good. I feel really good about her being in there.

I was very pleased to have come to this facility. I found for a facility houseing forty three people, it was pleasent, no orders any where. A very clean facility lots of lighting and windows in common areas. The Director was very helpfull in giveing me information that I might need to know. I was very comfortable with the surroundings, nicely decorated and very roomie spaces for ease of getting around of patients. Reasonabley priced and within the budjet I was looking for. Residents look well cared for clean and comfortable in this facility.
