This facility is wonderful! Though "under staffing" can be a concern, I looked at the posted staffing numbers at the Villa Maria and staffing is above code. The quality of care that my dad received was second to none. The staff was compassionate and caring. I would place my dad at the Villa Maria again in a heartbeat. Great facility!!!

An absolute joke of a place!

I went to visit my mother. I live in Massachusetts. She stays here close to my father. As I walked in, I heard the nurse supervisor throwing around the f bomb talking down to other staff and not having any respect around other residents. The residents are just left all over the corridor bored out of their minds. The cnas were yelling at residents to sit down and not helping them. My mother is oriented and stays to herself. She says she’s not happy with the staff but it’s close to my father. When her dinner came, it looked terrible. The meal was repulsive. She asked for a cup of juice and never received it. No one was around to be found. She later asked for a pitcher of water and didn’t get that either. I had to say something to staff, which I received an attitude. As soon as I can find another place to care for my mother, she’s out of there. Don’t put your family member here.

Lack of care and concern

The family member I had in this facility received a concerning lack of care and empathy for their situation. Our family was told for 4 days that a chest xray had been "ordered STAT". This did not happen for 4 days. At this time, my family member had extremely high level of fluid in their lungs. The patient was moved into a room with a broken toilet, medication was not obtained for days. The family was asked to remain in the facility to ensure that breathing treatments were provided or they "would be forgotten". Communication was abysmal, staff were yelling at each other and patients, safety was a concern, and overall facility cleanliness was poor. Our family member will not ever step foot back in this facility but we are concerned for the health and safety of others. If you need to consider this level of care, please look elsewhere or your family member could end up in critical care like ours did!

This company may have a 5 star rating, however that is only going by the book and what the inspectors see that day. From having personal experience with Villa Maria and their staff, I would not recommend this place for your loved ones. They are always understaffed, making their care quality poor, and their management is awful. Being there all the time, I hear many things going on their, and from the sounds of it their employees get no respect, and their head nurse superviser has no clue what he/she is doing.
