I picked this community, because the apartment was set up exactly like I needed to be. I like it its quiet, friendly staff, and residents are all nice.

I am very pleased with the Phalen Senior Lofts. Management is diligent and helpful. Residents are friendly. Very clean. I am really glad that I moved here. Any issues are handled promptly and efficiently.

My mom has had a terrific experience here!

It's good, it's really great. They're wonderful. Things are more expensive than where I was, but I'm in a major metropolitan area so you have to expect that. If there's an emergency, there's a number that we can call for the manager but this is just an apartment building for old folks, so there's no staff for medical emergencies or any thing like that. They don't offer activities here

Liked this the best, heat included, parking under units. Cons little small, rent a little high but doable

I moved in [date removed]. One year ago. It was different living amongst strangers after living in my home for 17 years. Some people were friendly others ignored you, some still do. The property management were friendly and courteous. The bldg is located on Payne and Phalen which is a very busy corner. Lots of cars, police, ambulances, fire trucks all hrs day&nite. You get used to it. The trains are harder to get used to when they go by and their metal wheels are rubbing metal on the tracks such harsh noise from it. Yet in time all become part of the noise. Close to my drs pharmacy shopping/grocery stores. I worked at the university in the vicinity for almost 20 years before I retired. Very familiar area ate at a couple restaurants now closed. When I moved in there were some serious issues about safety, rules broken by residents, etc yet as time has gone by management has continued to resolve these issues to make it feel safer and more enjoyable. [name removed] and I enjoy living here.

The community is immaculately clean. The staff are so patient and helpful. Her apartment is huge and accessible plus she is an amazing lower-town area of Saint Paul but tucked away at the same time.

Clean, friendly people, accommodating manager and very thorough tour. Rooms were spacious and it was nice that they had in room laundry.

Our loved in is all settled in at Lyons Court Senior Apartments. Our loved one has been doing very well since the move to the community. The community is nicely kept and clean throughout. A Place for Mom has been very nice with following up and I certainly appreciate it!

Lyons Ct and Phalen Senior Lofts are both great but are income controlled. No market rate apts. and Phalen is not smoke free though Lyons is.

The person that I worked with to help get my uncle settled there (Melissa) was very helpful. There was a lot of communication back and forth and she was excellent. I was a little confused about some of the services they offer. For example, I thought they had the option for the residents to once a month or so take a bus to some local stores and other areas, but they do not. But it was still the best choice and my uncle is very happy there.

If you enjoy your privacy, this is an excellent building for that. The staff is appreciable and very nice. Since it's independent living, there is no medical staff, no meals provided, no activities. It's a very clean and quiet building with indoor heated parking available.

I've been here less than 3 months and the elevator has been down 3 times. Last time it was for a week. I'm on the fourth floor and in a wheelchair so.... I've been stuck on my floor. The building manager was new and only here about 2 to 3 weeks before I got here and had quit already due to stress. Most buildings have a full time manager but this one is supposed to be here Monday, Wednesday and every other Friday. If you're lucky. I've also put in a few needs request more than once and I'm still waiting for them to get done. On the upside the residents are VERY nice and friendly people. They are always ready to help me.

They raise the rent every year. I started with a 2 bdr for $877. and had to leave year five because the rent for 2018 was $1060.

Very little storage for an sports woman like me. Bryan was very helpful to talk to.

The first two months of my mother being there she had roaches in her kitchen, so we have been spraying and putting down traps and making sure everything is clean for her because she can’t do it all the time. They did send in somebody to spray the building for bugs. The washers and dryers do not always work. She recently had a flood in her apartment due to a pipe bursting in someone else’s apartment on the third floor, They said they would move her to another apartment then they backed out of that and said she can’t move. She now has some mold growing in her closet on the wall. We are ready to break her lease And move her out of there, but she wants to give it a little more time. She has been there for nine months on top of that. There are no activities for the seniors just a big community room with the TV and some tables. And the Property managers keep quitting. Guess they don’t like Sherman properties. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
