The staff are very kind, patient and friendly. The bathrooms are quite helpful for those in wheelchairs, as is the open design of the kitchen, dining and living room. There is a great deal of variety and options in the choice of food and the rotation of stations adds a personal touch. We would recommend this community to other families.

[name removed] the executive manager is terrific, however organization is needed. The menus need to reflect a sodium and carb count it is essential for those with chf and/or diabetes. They are trying with the activities.. Videos for exercise without someone present to check form not wise

Staff is awesome!!! Very attentive and approachable. Residence are a true community and gently reach out and pull my mom toward socialization. Room is clean and spacious and priced fairly.

Staff is very pleasant and helpful. Although seems short of staff. Cleanliness I would say is a 3 right now partly due to ongoing construction as Windows and sliders are being replaced and some units remodeled. So that causes a lot of noise also. Seems to be lack of follow through from management perhaps due to shortness of staff. For example I moved in 3 weeks ago and no one has asked for car info or pet shot verification, Or if I'm even connected to their cable TV. Food menus could be much improved to show sodium content, calories etc. Residents are friendly. I wish they were more internet connected and would use a website with work order software so that work orders could be tracked and routed by type. Computers in one shape or another have been around for 60+ years and most of us elderly are computer savvy. It seems archaic and ridiculous to have to use our cell phones to call down to the front desk with questions. Staffers sometimes appear to be frazzled and stressed due to staff shortages. New ownership since November I'm told. All in all I'm satisfied here with few exceptions.

When I arrived at the facility, I saw it a little board that said welcome Linda. They gave me a good tour and explained all the important things. Due to a decline in my husband’s health, we ended up, deciding to keep him at home.

The residents at this community were very friendly and kind. The person we met with for the tour was genuine and there was no pressure at all to join the community. Great experience. They have lots of fun activities, indoor pool and gym. The food is good and there are lots of choices everyday.

Mom is happy there. It's been over a year and she is finally making some friends and participating in a few activities. Brookdale gets feedback from the residents on food they want or like. They keep everyone engaged. It's a very nice community.

Most staff and residents are friendly, but not the higher up admin staff. Manager and financial manager are difficult and can be argumentative and challenging. I don't like how they run things and don't like some policies and procedures. Meals/dining - was a 4 when they moved in, but they subsequently changed chefs a few times. Activities - good selection, but most things are resident run. Also, was promised the pool would be re-opened by the time they moved in and, almost a year later, it still isn't open.

Hallway carpets need to be replaced not just cleaned once again. Odors are bad in Building 2 ground floor. Administrator was promoted from within which is a great thing, but in my opinion she was not given the proper training for this position. She is a great person and I really like her. [name removed] is very open to suggestions and we always have good options. She adjusts the menus as needed. However we may not take leftovers to our rooms. This is an issue because we feel that we paid for it. Activities are appropriate activities for all. However we have an issue with the Swimming Pool.

We were so happy we used a place for mom. We were lucky to be assigned to [name removed] who helped us find assisted living for our Uncle when under pressure to find housing within 3 days.She could not have been more helpful or understanding. If we need help again we will definitely contact APFM.

I have left voicemails , notes regarding various concerns . They simply don’t get back to you . The cleaning person does not tell me what time she will come . I’ve addressed this with management with no return call . I left a note about a second cockroach in my apartment . No response to that either . There is no one supervising the exercise videos and they are from the 90’s . There is one live yoga class with an instructor . I’ve addressed this and gotten nowhere . An apartment patio on ground floor directly across from gym door is loaded with crap . It looks horrible . It’s very packed with junk . I addressed it with no response . The pool house is a real eyesore as it sits in disrepair. There are no workmen and the building is torn up . The residents are used to all this but complain to each other . The hallways are in need of paint . The one washer / dryer is always busy when I need it . The paint is pealing terribly in the courtyard on the decks .

The aides at Brookdale Redwood were terrific. [name removed] and [name removed] and [name removed] especially. The staff was also great, but my loved one has not passed away. We cannot comment on the activities as they did not participate.

I am happy here. it's cleaned on a regular basis some residents don't pick up after themselves. The staff is friendly and helpful. The dining staff sometimes slow but nice and food is mostly to my liking. I enjoy most of them. My daughter says that the cost is very reasonable for the location and what we get. It's a great Community for those who can choose for themselves but those who feel stuck here by family are not very happy but other than that it's a great community and I enjoy it I would just assume stay.

The place is clean, the food is average. People at the front desk are super rude and not helpful. My uncle complains all the time that the staff does not even say hello or good morning when he sits down at the dining table. We have asked multiple times to have someone check on him because sometimes he won't answer the phone, and they are unwilling to do that. If we could move him somewhere else we would. I would not recommend this place to family or friends

What I like the most about Brookdale Redwood City is that the rooms are quiet and the people there are nice. I use a walker and one can't even walk around building without stairs! The food is too much too salty not healthy I've gained so much weight and my bp is up! No writing or poetry classes. It's dark on first floor and smells mildew There are garden plots for residents but it's up stairs!

The food was better when my father first moved in April of 2023 My father was fairly content living there. He found love there too! The caregivers that work there are very good They do need to change the carpets in the hallways in the living quarters. The person working at the front desk was awesome. The staff in the dinning room are great too.

The staff is very helpful and friendly, but do not intrude when not needed. The environment supports a lot of autonomy that many seniors would appreciate. They also somehow know when more support intervention is needed and address it seamlessly. Meals are good but not overly generous, which is better for some, but a little less accommodating for others (our case). Overall, we are very pleased with the choice for our circumstances.
