first impressions after three weeks
1. We've felt very welcome here from the first day on met some fine people and have enjoyed several activities. 2. Overall cleanliness is excellent. public restrooms are kept clean and we have maid service at the apartment once a week 3. Everyone including the staff is very friendly. 4. We are an independent living, so no care is necessary at this point. 5. The staff is efficient and friendly. There doesn't seem to be a large turnover. Most of the staff has been here for years. 6. We love the food. Haven't had a bad meal since we've been here. I understand the kitchen staff was changed and a new chef and Staff was hired this summer. Residence say the food is much better since then. 7. A lot of activities and crafts. 8. Being here only three weeks we'll have to see how the value is. We have what we think is a great rate on a large 3 two bedroom apartment.

Found the facility clean, friendly, professional and comfortable feeling. Occupants seemed to enjoy their surroundings and others around them. Some sat outside talking with each other. Staff seemed very involved with residents. My guide was very professional and friendly.

My statement is that if a person is Independent living or lightly assisted living, most of the places like Camellia do a great job. If you assisted living, not quite ready for skilled nursing but a handful for assisted living, good luck! Where my mother is now handles this better than Camellia but I'd bet a nickel none are good at it. They all need to hire more people and none will do that.

We've had a terrific experience with Camellia so far. Why? We had questions about procedures that were included in the resident handbook. However, we didn't receive one until several weeks after move-in. This would have been super beneficial from the start! Staff - Outstanding!! Food - Okay. Could be better & less institutionalized for the amount of money we're paying. Residences - Apartments are lovely & well-maintained. No complaints here. Care (including medication management) - staff has been excellent. [name removed] has been very responsive to pain management needs until we can obtain an outside pain management physician.

I toured the one bedroom condo and thought it was perfect for me. Plenty of space for storage, good size rooms, and all utilities included. The dining was inviting and plenty of tables. The best part was the number of activities available with a wide variety of options. Pets are welcomed which pleased me. The residents I met were friendly and welcomed me with open arms.

Great place for Independent living, fairly self sufficient and good mobility assisted living or with means for additional private care. Cant speak for memory care. The staff will do only what they have to do for the most part but not sure that's any different than anywhere else. It is expensive but again, they all are. Read your Level of Care contract well and find out that level before signing. The ED is very fair. If it was necessary to get her involved, she took care of the problem. Keep level of care contract at hand.. you will need to refer to it.

The Camillia is bright, clean and really beautiful. The rooms are spacious and bright. It is only about 15 years old, so looks newer and brighter than other places we have toured. Great location, close to shopping and other restaurants when you want to go off-campus. [name removed], who gave us the tour, is a fabulously bright, happy person and just a joy to be around. The only downside was the food. We had lunch at the facility, and maybe it was an off day or could have been what we ordered, but it didn’t taste like Chef prepared foods that are available other places. It wasn’t terrible, just average, but could be improved. Service though was excellent. Overall would give it a 4.5 out of 5.

A Place for Mom turned us on to Camellia (thank you [name removed]!) And we fell in love with the place the minute we walked in. [name removed] immediately became the angel on my shoulder through a long, arduous process and I couldn't have done it without her. The community is bright, cheerful, buzzing with activity and full of life! Today my mother became a resident. I look forward to meeting/working with the rest of the staff. The dining staff has high turnover. Corporate reorganization has resulted in lots of changes. No current sales staff but being worked on lots of movement in and out currently. Biggest challenge is food and dining staff @ Camilia. The facility is friendly and has a warm atmosphere.

The entire staff strives to make this a loving and comfortable home for all residents. Residence are encouraged to eat with others in the dining area and join as many activities as they feel comfortable. There are multiple opportunities for outings, including lunch and shopping. The Physical Therapy team is top notch and the director of nursing is truly an angel.

We have a great experience with Camille. The facility is always clean. The staff is amazing. Caring and loving. My Dad is in memory care and needs extra care. The staff is always in tune to his needs. He enjoys the meals. He is on a special diet and they always make sure his needs are met. The cost is somewhat high but we tried several other places where he was not taken care of and ended in the hospital. We sleep good at night knowing he is safe and happy.

Camellia at Deerwood was great at first but then changed administration & bought out so things have gone downhill since February. The friendliness of the staff is a 4, but currently a 3 due to admin changes and many staff changes. The meals is currently a 2 rating due to changes of hands. They need more transportation options however for appointments, etc. Prices have increased since last November & with new admin...inflation?? A nice community with room for improvement...think they need to work out the kinks from New Administration and Company buy out.

If you are looking for a place for your aging parent, look no further. My only wish is that she would’ve moved in a few years earlier. Everyone there, from housekeeping to marketing is welcoming and genuine.
