Amazing staff

Overall I am very happy with the place. I think the best part is the staff. They are so kind and supportive and think they take very good care of my dad. He can be a difficult patient, but they always assure me it's no problem and they can handle him. It really puts my mind at ease. Every time I visit, the patients are always clean and well cared for. The person I originally spoke with is [name removed] and she is wonderful. She kept me up to date on the process and was available for every step. I can't say enough good things about her.

Longevity Living of Granite City

Overall, we've had a positive experience with Longevity. The facility is always clean, and there always seems to be someone taking care of the housekeeping. One thing that has stood out is that visitors have commented on how fresh the building is-it doesn't have the typical odor that some care facilities can have. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and always takes the time to say hello. Although Longevity isn't the most conveniently located facility for our family, it was by far the cleanest and most welcoming place we toured, which made it the right choice. My dad is generally happy with the food. His only recurring complaint is that they serve fish sticks almost every Friday, although he sometimes forgets that there are other menu options he can order instead. The apartment is the perfect size for one person, though it would likely feel too small for a couple. One suggestion for improvement would be to make sure the evening staff has access to basic cleaning supplies, such as a mop and bucket, when needed.

Some amazing caregivers but terrible activities.

The new director is great. The head nurse is awesome as well are most of the caregivers. BUT, the activities provided are repetitive and not engaging. There is very little attempt to build community or to create a stimulating environment for the residents. The activities department does not communicate with families via social media or any app to let us know what our mom is doing each day. These are the last days on planet earth for these beautiful humans and their lives are not being honored. Daily activities are SO IMPORTANT!

She's so happy at her new home.

The staff are friendly and attentive. They know every resident's name. Activities - 3, because they really (the residents) can't pay attention to do any type of arts and crafts. Food is WAY better than I would have ever guessed. Dining itself is super quiet. Room size is great!

Nice place for Dad

For the most part , it's great. Food is really good, so is housekeeping, the director and lead salesperson and some of the cnas/med techs/senior aids. The facility is lovely. I would advice anyone else, If possible, have their own primary care physician.

Helpful and attentive

They are so kind and she was happy there. They paid attention to the residents and called them by name and talked to them one on one. They didn't yell at someone was not wanting to do what they needed to do. The nurse's seemed to be very helpful and attentive to them called them by there name. Gave them medicine very gentle. Everyone there talked to them like a person and with respect and kindness. I do think they need a little bit more activities.

Always room for improvement

A few things are better than others the shared bathroom could be better taken care of better and sometimes you won't see any staff when you visit after 6pm more outdoor activities. It is nice compared to other facilities in Granite City, so I would recommend them.

Excellent facility

I would rate everything as excellent, especially the care my father-in-law receives every day. They take the time to learn the likes and dislikes of each resident. I never had to contact anyone else while looking, we knew Cedarhurst was the right choice.

Excellent Choice

My loved one is currently a resident at Cedarhurst of Granite City and we feel like we made an excellent choice. The staff at this facility really seem to care for the residents. The meals are great. The move in process was easy. Potential residents are interviewed. The friendliness, care services and activities are great. I would recommend Cedarhurst of Granite City to family and friends.

Overall loved one is happy living there

With the friendliness of the staff, there are a few staff that are not as friendly. They have a lot of turn over with CNA's for the afternoon shift. I've also been hearing about residence getting out at night a few times lately. The alarms are not always working or turned on. That's what I've heard from other families. It's a nice community that could use some improvements, the courtyards could use a good cleaning or sprucing up.

It's always very clean and neat and very quiet. They usually respond promptlyThere are many things that are great about this place - most of the staff are very sweet and kind and go out of their way to help the residents. I know we were led to believe that there would be lots of activities to participate in, and there aren't. I think that was my loved ones biggest disappointment.

An excellent experience.

I moved my wife of 50 years into Cedarhurst Memory Care this afternoon. Needless to say, it was an emotional experience. Thank God for [names removed], the Director of Sales. She went way more than above and beyond in making the transition as easy and comforting as possible. While all the folks I met, [names removed]etc. were friendly and compassionate, [names removed]is a true gem. I don't know what they pay her, but it isn't enough. I am a 100% disabled Viet Nam combat vet, and I don't know if we would have made it without her. It seemed as though no challenge was too great for her, even staying late into the evening to insure the delivery of my wife's furniture . Due to the reception we have gotten I feel far more comfortable that my wife is in good professional hands and she is not being treated as merely a number, but as a member of the family. Thank you all.

My review of Cedarhurst of Granite City

The place is really nice and when there was snow they cleared it up very quickly. However, the value is a lot to high and when it comes to the meals you fill out a menu stating what you like and do not like, and more than sometimes they mess up the order. Sometimes when i request a phone call from maintenance or the head lady in charge i very rarely get a call back.
