It is clean and we would not hesitate to recommend Discovery Village to others. Maintenance is quick to fix issues. The facility is very well soundproofed because we have never heard sounds from others' rooms or my in-laws room and they have their TV very loud because of hearing loss. I moved her to Discovery Village next and the care and food is greatly improved. \nThe care team comes every 2-3 hours for bathroom trips and that has really helped to keep UTIs away and keep urine smell to a minimum. \nMy biggest complaint is I don’t see on video the attempts to get her to activities often. I know she does not want to go (prefers TV in her room) but I don’t see them even asking now. The second complaint is the communication around doctors and medical is not ideal. The med techs communicate well but not laters above. I had to ask many times to get the PT going and it turns out she had the orders from the paperwork at her admission. I can’t figure out what doctors visit so I can reach out to get a report. Movies are a highlight, but the chairs in the theatre or SO uncomfortable. I have to take a pillow to enjoy the show. More enthusiasm by the Activities Department is needed to get residents interested. Overall the food is good, and some days it is exceptional. Of course other days it is awful. To be expected. Management does not respond to our concerns. She says she will get it done, but rarely gets problems addressed. (For example the TV problem.) I have lived in other Senior Living Facilities, and I feel this is much better. Cleanliness is always a priority!
