In view of a large pond surrounded by lively greenery, Somerford House and Place Frederick is a Five Star Senior Living property located in Frederick, Maryland. This is about 60 miles northwest of Baltimore. The pet-friendly community within driving distance of nearby hospitals and offers charming studio and one-bedroom apartments, some of which include a patio and an ADA shower.
This community offers a wide range of services, including assisted living, memory care, respite care, and rehabilitation. In the memory care neighborhood, round-the-clock care. This memory care neighborhood also features an emergency response system. Seniors in assisted living have access to round-the-clock concierge services. Plus, speech, physical, and occupational therapy is available in the community’s on-site Ageility clinic.
Life at Somerford House and Place Frederick is filled with convenience. Scheduled transportation is available for seniors to attend doctor’s appointments or visit local shops, and chef-prepared meals are served three times a day in the charming restaurant-style dining area. We went there twice,both times it was around lunch time. Seen a lot of residents,they were very friendly and all looked well cared for. Met a lot of staff,they really connected with the residents, no one was ignored.seaton felt like home, very comfortable, can't wait to get our family member in. Looked at five other places this one just felt right.

If you have a loved one that wants to be part of a large extended family- Somerford is the only place you should look! The feeling of comfort, care, love and home like environment is what sets this community apart from the others. The meals are delicious and the team is always communicating with family. Highly recommend!

After touring and talking to the staff at Somerford, I made this my first choice for my mother. I made the right choice. My mom is adapting well and the staff are kind, caring, always knowledgeable about my mother’s needs and progress.

Somerford House is a wonderful place for any loved one. My mother was a resident for 1-1/2 years and she couldn’t have been at a better place. The whole staff is very caring and everyone is treated like they are part of a big family. There is a wide variety of activities available for all residents. They can choose their own meals and the staff puts an unusual amount of effort to make everyone happy. The nursing staff is very caring and diligent. They facility is very clean, safe and well maintained. I highly recommend Somerford House.

Their staff on weekends is greatly reduced and many times you can smell all the residents there not being changed especially in evening hours. Cleanliness is needed at Somerford House.

Well the facility is nice, food is absolutely terrible, direct staff friendly. Admin really has to deal with to much been trying to get a meeting haven't had any luck

My loved one is a resident of Somerford Place. She is very loved by the caregivers and nurses. When I am not able to be there, I never have to worry about her well being. Each time I visit there is something fun happening.

Staff there do not change patients there very well on some occasions... hygiene for wheelchair dementia patients is bad at times with depends/adult diapers due to overload on staff. Staff in the memory care unit are less friendly than Sunrise at times. 50% it seems due to long hours, fatigue, or poorer English. Staff upfront are friendly in the front area and better people skills.

My daughter & I was given a tour of Somerford & Place, Frederick this past week. After seeing several other “Senior Homes” I found Somerford & Place to outshine the other locations by far. I loved having a choice of room size & good views. I was very impressed by the cleanliness & homey feel. No where on our tour did I detect that “nursing home odor. Very pleasant everywhere we went! ALL of the staff we saw was pleasant & friendly to us & very informative. I highly recommended.

We were given a tour of the place. The lady giving the tour was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. She even took over and pushed my mom in the wheelchair so we could see the place better! We were shown multiple apartment options and she explained what rent covered and what the monthly costs would be. I would highly recommend.

When we decided to move my dad from Gettysburg, PA, where he lived his entire life, I was filled with anxiety. Moving him to Somerford was wonderful! He feels like he is with family there. He loves the residents there, and we love the staff. They have many activities there to suit anyone. He is well fed too. I love that has access to physical therapy and occupational therapy there too. Somerford House was the right choice!

This is good community, and my tour of it went well. The community looked very nice, everything was very well maintained from what I saw. The staff was friendly, and kind. My tour guide was nice, and informative. Everyone was very polite, and welcoming. It was a good experience.

My mom has transitioned well at Somerford House & Place Frederick she enjoys being among the other residents and socializing, taking part in several of their many activies as well. She also enjoys going to the dining room for her meals and the food is very good. I have just signed my mother up for the resident doctor program they offer as well. They also offer transportation for the residents to go shopping and on fieldtrips. I would have no problem recommend Somerford House to family and friends.

I have no complaints about the tour I had taken for my loved one at this community. The staff where very knowledgeable and made sure to answer any questions we had for them in detail. I liked that the facility was a little bit smaller and all of the rooms where about the same size, It was just not the right fit for my dad in the end decision.

I have no complaints about how things went for my loved one during our tour of this community. The staff where on time to our appointment and made sure to answer any questions we had for them in detail. It was just not the right location for him in the end decision.
