Review for Symphony Linden

I find the facility to be well-maintained. I did notice some issues initially, but also see that they have been and or are being addressed. When it comes to activities, I am relaying secondhand information because I obviously didn't pay close enough attention. Another residence daughter told me that activities were minimal or nonexistent. She kept complaining to the management and eventually that was resolved. When I see my mom now I see a whiteboard with activities listed each day. Keep in mind, that since I'm referring to the memory care section, it's not like they have the residence playing tennis. The activities that come to mind are things like a time for reminiscing a time for stretching, balloon, volleyball, big card, bingo, music, and motion, and for the ladies, they get their nails done. In regards to the Staff, I find them to be attentive and caring. They have demonstrated an affection for my mom, despite the significant limitations with language. With regard to apartment size, in the Monet section, they're not really apartments, but more like rooms. And when I selected Symphony, it was my desire to put my mom into a shared room because in my house [Name Removed] expressed the fear of being alone. By shared room, I don't mean a studio space with two beds in it but a room that has one refrigerator one bathroom one microwave but two bedrooms however at the time I was taking my mom there such a room was not available so they put my mom into a single occupancy room and she's quite comfortable there.

Feels like Mom's Place.

Lack of follow-up: I have yet to receive a copy of my signed contract, going to ask for it again; There was a billing error and when I reported it, I was supposed to get a revised bill, but never did, so I just paid the correct amount on- line, rather than the billed amount. Other than eating and sitting in front of the TV, I'm not aware of any activities. Yes, I would recommend it. It's hard to explain with specifics, but the other places I visited had more of an industrial/institutional feel than Symphony

Great place for my Mom

The everyday staff I would give a 5. Administration a 3. The care workers and front desk workers are excellent and very friendly. Administration is friendly but, not the best at communicating. Dining is good. Activities are good and plentiful. Size of my mom's room is good, for her needs. I highly recommend Symphony of Linden.

my family's experience. I would recommend the facility but it definitely needs improvement with the administration

overall experience is a 1, administration was a nightmare trying to get her situated. I've had no complaints about how clean they keep the facility. Everyone is so nice to my Mom and really have been great about helping her to get to all the fun things going on. They are taking very good care of my Mom, and some of the people update me through texts. Just never nurses or doctors. administration staff was a 1. They were almost impossible to work with. I had to hunt down the different staff people I needed to talk to or have a letter from. They absolutely would not put me in touch with anyone. The point person who was supposed to be doing all this did absolutely nothing for me and was extremely unfriendly and unhelpful. My Mom was constantly complaining about the food at first but now she says it's gotten better. My Mom is very much enjoying a lot of the activities and the staff usually are very good about making sure she gets to them. I looked at several other places. They all have the same starting rate as Symphony. The difference is everything is included at Symphony. The other facilities up charge to other levels for everything. Examples are- helping with shower, helping with medication, helping to get them to activities. It would probably add up to more than double the cost.

They were very helpful with the move in with a cart for moving furniture. The facility has a family "Movie Theater" and a pub with free popcorn and wine or beer for the residents. And a large fitness center for rehabilitation.

generally happy as we were unable to care for her before.

People are very friendly, but like any Assisted Living facility, they are understaffed. The rooms could be cleaned more often and sometimes the clothing comes up missing. That being said, Linden is safe and the people there care for her very much.

The team at Linden were very responsive to us. From Leadership to the CNA’s, we could not be happier with the care our loved one received. While I hope we don’t need rehabilitation in the future, but if we do it will definitely be Symphony Linden.

Review for Symphony Linden

My father in law passed away a week after getting there. In that short time I was not impressed with his care. First they put him in the wrong room. The nurse that was there was wonderful. They moved him to his room and they misplaced his medication. I'm not sure if they gave him his correct medication. He went into a diabetic coma within 6 days. He got there on a Monday and had passed by the following Monday. So I'm really that happy with that place.

Compassionate Staff and a Comfortable Environment

We are very happy with Symphony Linden. I drafted this review for them if it's helpful at all... My father-in-law has been at Symphony Linden’s Monet Memory Care for just over a year, and overall, we have been very pleased with his care. While there were some initial challenges during a restructuring phase, the staff has since become more stable and communicative, making things much easier. He enjoys his routine and has a few favorite caregivers who make him feel comfortable. The facility is well-equipped, with call buttons at his bedside and in the restroom for easy access to assistance. The staff caters to his preferences with à la carte menu options, ensuring he enjoys his meals. His private room, which includes a bathroom and mini fridge, is regularly cleaned, and his laundry is taken care of. While we primarily stay within the Monet Memory Care area, Symphony Linden offers a lovely community space with a movie theater, a small shop/bar area, and a beautiful outdoor garden for residents to enjoy on nice days. Any questions or concerns we’ve had have been addressed promptly. We’re grateful for the care and support he receives here.

Peace of Mind

We were not sure how to begin a search for an assisted living, but were surprised by the time the advisor for Symphony Linden took with us. We didn't feel rushed nor pressured in the decision. Now that our mother is settled into her new surrounding, we remain content with the level of service she's receiving and the communication we receive. The process of making this decision and the care that's she's receiving has given us peace of mind in the decision we made to place her at Symphony Linden.

Amazing Facility!!

My experience with Symphony Linden has been nothing short of exceptional! From the moment we walked through the doors, we were welcomed with warmth and kindness. The staff truly goes above and beyond to ensure that residents feel at home, providing compassionate care and personalized attention every step of the way. The all-inclusive pricing structure gives families peace of mind, knowing there are no hidden fees or unexpected charges. The beautiful, well-maintained facility, engaging activities, and delicious meals create an environment where residents can thrive and enjoy life to the fullest. The rooms are spacious, offering plenty of comfort, and some even have a lovely patio for residents to enjoy fresh air and relaxation. The advisor and the entire team made the transition seamless, guiding us through the process with patience and understanding. Respite stay [date removed]

My mother did okay for this being the first time she has stayed anywhere. She felt the staff were very kind to her. I ran into to some issues with paperwork, and hearing back so close to the day she was suppose to be there to get more stuff from her doctor. Then the day I got there they said I could not leave baby spring or vitamins. Also had an issue with being double billed. They did resolve the pretty quickly. I would definitely consider using them again. They just need to figure out some of their admissions paper work.

Review for Symphony Linden

The aids and staff are wonderful and take pride in their work. Don't take anything valuable or sentimental because items go missing regularly. The food is so so. A lot of times it doesn't look appealing and my dad doesn't care for most meals. I wish they had some live entertainment- their activities need more variety. The room is nice and they keep the facility clean and decorated. After 2 months, my dad seems happy there and says he is well taken care of.

Tips for evaluating your community options

Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Assisted Living. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:

  • Know Michigan’s regulations for memory care. Each state has its own laws and inspection processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the communities you’re considering. Learn more about Michigan’s regulations for memory care and download the Guide to Senior Living Licensure and Inspection Reports.

  • Tour the location. Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and it helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Confirm the availability of required services. Before committing, make sure that the community offers all the services your loved one needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.
