But the residential staff have been great about keeping an eye on her. Communication regarding some of my mom's initial ADL challenges wasn't good from management. It's improving though per usual I have to stay on top of things. I do like that one of the administrative staff connected me with hospice to assess for additional services! A lot of places have long hallways that seem very much like a hotel and create potential confusion for residents trying to find their rooms and a sense of disconnectedness. At Highlands all of the rooms are around one big atrium that everyone comes out to socialize in and gather which makes it feel very open and welcoming. The staff is kind and friendly and while no place is 100% perfect, all of my mom’s needs have been met and the staff is very friendly and quick to address any concerns. The food is top notch. They have taken amazing care of my dad from day 1 with everyone welcoming him to keeping him up and active in memory care.
