Caring staff, helpful financial and administrative support since we were put on the waitlist for a room.

It is a wonderful place. The staff has been very helpful with any situation. They honestly love the clients and the families. The only complaint is the doctor and medical staff don't make it easy to get updates. I call the Director of Nursing to get information about the doctor visits and I get resistance. I'm tempted to get my dad an outside doctor so I know what is going on. The food looks appetizing and healthy. They also help with the transition of self-pay to Medicaid since the beginning. They keep my Dad clean. They always have activities for the residents.

Not recommended

If you go for nursing help it is very limited. Nursing not warm and friendly. Cna staff was very good but limited to what they can do. Dining staff very good. Administration staff seemed to change but no update to residents on who replace who. Facility is mostly clean didn't seem to enough staff. Maintenance staff very helpful.

Our Family Experience

Definitely 5 for every category. My mother recently passed away but I know that she liked being at the Pointe. If I had to choose one thing, I would have to say it was the staff from top to bottom that makes the Pointe an excellent choice for assisted living. I remember my first impression when I first visited the Pointe was how happy everyone seemed to be, both the staff and residents. That kind of cheerfulness was evident in the quality of care provided and social interaction between staff and residents. That also extended to the family members of the residents. But I think the highest recommendation came from my mom. She was at the Pointe for only nine months before her passing. Early this year she was hospitalized and was in a rehab center for a short while. At one point she asked when she could go home. She was referring to the Pointe. If and when my time comes, I should be so lucky to end up in a place like the Pointe.

When looking for a place for your loved ones you need to put in the foot....

I would rate it 4/5. Always room for improvement. Things I like The activities, the food menu and the in house doctor's visits for podiatry and ophthalmology. They also have a beautician that comes out once a week. Things that could improve. Feeding the residents seems a-little like feeding inmates just quickly passing out food giving out dessert even before they are finished with their meal even if it's ice cream that could melt. When looking for a place for your loved ones you need to put in the foot work and look at several facilities before making your final decision The Pointe was the right fit for my parents

Staff and residents very friendly

Staff gets a 4 -simply because I don't know the new person in charge. [name removed] left in July and she was awesome. The meals - there were some hiccups this summer. Mom only goes to dinner and frequently they ran out of the scheduled menu item and sometimes the quality wasn't good. Activities -pet therapy is a popular activity, yet it's scheduled when the [name removed] in the hair salon is there (and she's there only twice a month, so folks need to take advantage of her presence). 8. 5

Communication is key!

Request a team meeting with directors, RN, CNAs working with your parent during the first week your parent is there. You must all be on the same page with what is communicated to families, what is families responsibility to communicate, etc.

Could not be happier

I would give an enthusiastic 5 for each of categories listed above. The staff is cheerful and greet you with a "hello" towards guests but more importantly they seem to treat and interact with the residents as if they were family. Couldn't be more pleased.

Things to know

Communication about medicine is not very good. Not a lot of communication with the nurses. Not a lot of communication on other things either like not showering or skipping a lot of meals. Have to run into them by chance to get that info or have convo. A lot of repetitive activities but good they have them. Food is ok and nice there is options.

Review for The Pointe at Kilpatrick

For the services they offer, I am more than satisfied with the cost of her apartment! It's super clean and the staff has been amazing with her. She has transitioned completely to their medical staff as well and she has liked every Dr./Nurse she has dealt with. She has never once complained about their food. Even if she doesn't like the daily specials, they have an abundance of other choices for her to choose from.

Review for The Pointe at Kilpatrick

I don't think I could've found a more perfect setting for my loved one. I liked the overall look, but the home and family atmosphere sold us. The Director, [name removed], really felt our concerns and needs. She is the best!! I would recommend to others.

A great place for your loved one to live!

We love it, and my sister who lives there loves it too! We were very pleased by the entire process from beginning to end. I want to make special note of mentioning [name removed], the Marketing Director. When we went, she gave us a tour of the place, she answered all of our questions, and she was wonderful. Every encounter we had with her was wonderful. If you're a marketing manager, you may have a tendency to oversell the place. We saw other places and they want to tell you things, but when you look around you see that it's not what they say. She didn't oversell The Pointe, everything she said was 100% true. She was wonderful and I want to make sure she gets recognition.
