His biggest complaint is the sometimes long wait times for an aide to return to the dining room to escort him back to his room once he has finished his meal. Unfortunately, the move in process definitely needs to be looked at closely. We were surprised that the facility did not supply a durable and suitable moving equipment such as a large cart to assist with moving in the large furniture. All they had was a broken luggage cart.\nAfter getting into the facility, it took a lot more time (definitely more that I expected) to get acclimated to the facility. There was no one clearly communicating next steps, ie: cleaning schedule, processes to get things done around the room, care giving responsibilities, etc.\nLastly, although the Watermark does have a hospice waiver, they have only had a few hospice patients within their facility. My loved one turned out to be one of the first ones. Therefore, the staff and caregivers did not seem to clearly understand what their responsibilities were to care for my aunt. The head nurses did do their best to communicate with our hospice coordinator, which was helpful. But I don't know if that information was trickle down to the caregivers that helped my loved one on a daily basis. Our hospice aides and nurses did help with communicating to them what my loved one needed.\nOverall, we understand that no facility is perfect. We do feel that The Watermark is the right place for my loved one. We are all just remaining patient as we learn to navigate everything there is learn about assisted living.
