Good place

Very nice place, many activities, most residents are older (average age is 83). The apartments are comfortable and the maintenance folks timely and efficient. Handy bus service with friendly driver. Average food service, occasionally very good. All in all,a good place to call home.

That was way too huge for my mother to negotiate. It was nice but it was huge. I didn't like they had the separation of assisted living and independent living. so you would have to move apartments if you needed more care. Also, what I didn't' like was that the hallways were dark and they smelled. The assisted living, there were a ton of wheelchairs. They had a café and a dining room but it was way too much for my mom. I think she would have gotten lost. There were many floors and many hallways but it's a beautiful facility. If you're going to live independently I think this would be a great place.

Better for older people

My sister's in the assisted living part (The Terraces). I think its the average price for assisted livings without services, they're all probably similar, but the additional charges for extra things are kind of high. RIght now we're paying alot of money and its not like shes getting extra services, they aren't walking her but it costs extra to take her to a meal or deliver the meals to her. A few times they brought her to a meal and they didn't come back and get her, they charged her for pushing her button for someone to come and take her back. She wont go to activities because they're all old people and she's only 65, the movie nights are old movies and she's not interested in those. She feels like a duck out of water because shes so much younger than the rest.

my families experience

Hayden Grove is a beautiful facility, and we liked the pricing of it because things like laundry and meals were included - it was not a nickel and dime situation, the prices per month were less then other facilities we had looked at. The major gathering and common areas were always clean but house keeping in our loved ones room sometimes needs improvement, it was not always clean. We absolutely adored some of the staff there - the office staff were very nice and friendly. The care takers were fabulous you could tell that this was their calling, and some of the staff you could tell just did not really enjoy their job and that it was not their calling. They did have activities but due to our loved ones health there was not much they were able to participate in.

Nice But Needs Improvement

The staff is friendly. The place is very nice. But, they're new and unorganized. We had issues with medications. They told us one thing, which turned out to be entirely another thing, and it cost us a lot of money. It was hard to know who to contact when you needed to talk to somebody. They didn't have an activities director yet. My loved one hated the food. Maybe as they get on their feet things will improve.

We toured this community it was an excellent tour. They answered all of my questions It was an attractive community. I saw they had a list of daily activities and a menu for the food. But it seemed like a ghost town to me I saw hardly any staff and no residents. I wasn’t really impressed. I just felt it wasn’t a good fit for my brother.

Feedback on process

To explain the rating, and acknowledging they were in a transition of some sort, here are three things that could have been handled better: 1) explained that the intake assessment was the most important part of the process because it kicks off all the services that would be needed by my mother; 2) while trying to explain to their director that the EFT was not working correctly and she was adamant it was, my mother received her October bill noting a past due amount - finally, with this statement a payment was taken out of my mother's account; no bill was received showing the pro-rate amount due for August nor a full bill for September, just the October statement showing an overdue amount and then the new charge, and 3) the approach to family members should be warmer. That being said, the staff who handles the housekeeping, the nursing checks, the dining area and other services are kind, warm, friendly and seem to always have time to chat. It has been a pleasure to get to meet them.

Review for Talamore Woodbury

Some of the nurses and aides are excellent. Some are gruff and impatient though. The food is mediocre. The building is clean and the rooms are bright, airy and cheerful with modern layouts and appliances. The aides don't have a lot of time and seem like they have too many clients to take care of.

Life at The Glenn

Nice inviting lobby, with" hydration station," sunny lounge with puzzles, afternoon coffee and cookies served there. Maybe activities for residents every day. Good food selection, prepared on-site. Administration offices right by mailboxes. That is all in the independent and assisted living. In memory care there are activities listed but not much happening. The aides are kind. There is a television on at all times playing BUZZR channel with quiz games from the 1990's. The residents eat in a nice dining room. There is access to a yard and raised bed garden. It appears that the more care a resident needs, the higher the monthly rent. We experienced a 1-level change which amounted to $2000 a month. [name removed] and [name removed] in the offices are kind, empathetic, accessible.

Talamore Woodbury

The facility is beautiful and well kept. The food is fresh, menu varies, expensive if you aren't on the meal plan. Many staff members are absolutely wonderful...some aren't...like anyplace. The level of physical assist they advertise providing isn't actually what they provide...which was an unfortunate heartbreaking situation. There are a few staff members who attempt to provide cares that are specifically not requested...even after multiple addressed occurrences. There's lots of social opportunities. Welcoming resident community, lots of animals to pet

Mixed experiences

Our Mom lived in assisted living at the Preserve of Roseville. The doctor she had was one arranged for through the Preserve. We would have liked better communication with Mom's doctor, better communication between her doctor and the care givers at the Preserve, and a better way of their monitoring her diabetes. She enjoyed most meals, activities, and making friends among the residents. The building was well maintained. When she was driving, she enjoyed the underground garage. The view from the windows was beautiful.

nice spacious rooms. Some of them have balconies

The staff is friendly. The food has gotten better but they could still improve on that. The staffing isn't always reliable. The training could be better on basic things such as putting on compression socks for the clients. They need to have a back up plan for when the power goes out due to a storm, etc..

new management will hopefully bring needed help.

Unfortunately this is an industry problem, staffing is constantly changing which tells me that top management doesn't realize that consistency of staffing is the only way to get consistency of care. Meals were frozen foods, which I would not expect for the dollar amount we paid for meals. Since meals are extra. There were no variety of meals or even substitutions. Any special diet restrictions were ignored daily. At the cost of meals the residents should be able to choose what they want to eat.
