Good care. Good director. Nice facility.

The facility is beautiful, the tour really sells it nicely. Unfortunately the circumstances around my grandmas stay at the reserve weren’t as planned. Their care levels originally placed her at a level 5 meaning moderate assistance in the memory care, but a few days later they reevaluated her as a level 10 meaning maximum assistance and an increase in cost of $[removed]k without warning. Through minimal fault of the facility she declined and ended got up to a level 12 which is essentially hospice and cost $[removed]k per month. Some of the aides were very nice but at that cost I wish we would’ve gotten more assistance. Her room wasn’t clean, everything was strewn about, the clothes in her closet weren’t hers (and I meticulously labeled everything). Bottom line, if there’s any indication your loved one may need more than a level 2-3 of care it’s not the deal they market it as. And once they’re there they can increase the care level and charge you more at any time.

My father is very happy living at Great Woods. The food is excellent and he loves sitting out in the sun and reading his book. He hasn’t participated much in activities as he is still getting familiar with everything. Overall we have been very happy with Great Woods

It seems to be going well there. My parents are starting to participate care of some of the activities they have, such as game time and watching documentary films. Also getting to know some of the other residents too. One of the two elevators has been out of service their whole time, sometimes making it tedious to go up and down floors; but in theory work to be completed this week. They seem to like the food and dining set up too.

So far we are pleased with The Residence at Chadds Ford. Great staff, food is very good

Staff is friendly, helpful, competent. Management is inept, out of touch, unresponsive. My mother is happy there, I feel that she is safe. Pricing is very high.

Even in a difficult unit like the Memory Care unit my Dad is in, the staff are caring and very attentive to his needs

The staff is great but they are not great returning calls after you are moved in. Otherwise pretty good place.

It's been hard doing the medical because everything has to be written down by a doctor who is hard to get a hold of. That includes helping my dad drink a protein drink. The nurse is also hard to get a hold of.. For all the people in assisted living there should be more medical staff to be more interactive with patients and fill in when there is an urgent need. There was also a med that my dad had been on that should be given with food at his meals and they were giving it to him before he ate

The staff is very friendly and attentive to mom. The transition was relatively smooth.

To qualify ratings: admin turnover has been concerning, ranging from Exec Director to Financial Director to Head of Health/Nursing and Activities Director. The number and diversity of activities have decreased. To me this is the biggest issue. Unclear why staff turnover is occurring. Friendliness score high because of the everyday staff/aides who work very hard and are very amiable and attentive. My fear is that these folks working for an hourly wage don't get paid enough. LCD should consider these workers vital to the everyday success and smooth operations of The Residence. And continuity is likewise vital for the elderly residents. More senior communities are opening and trying to attract staff. It could be that some LCD people have been lured away by higher pay/better benefits.

The place is clean. Staff very helpful and friendly. Facility location perfect. Prices on average with other facilities.

It is very expensive and rates go up each year. There have been leaks due to the heavy rain. The food is constantly changing as they have had 3 different chefs in the single year my Mom has been there.

I was at the residence and South Windsor farms for 2 or 3 months. The residence is very expensive though that is why I moved to the villages. The Residence - if I didn't have the experience with [name removed] and [name removed] which was a bad experience. I for am waiting for an answer from coporate. Depending on my answer from corporate I would say as far as everything else goes in the residence I would give them a four but regarding this problem I had I would give them a two and if they report nothing to me I would give them a minus five. I love most of the Aid's they take care of mom. The place is clean. They do a lot with their memory care patients. They have different theme parties like once a month for all residents. They incorporate Memory Care with their Assisted Living Residents when they have music. They have a garden for memory care members. I really like their Memory Care Director as well as their activity coordinator. Memory Care go out for coffee on Monday. Out to lunch on Wednesday and sometimes Sunday afternoons they bring them for a ride on the bus.

4.5 very nice staff. Nice apartment. Plenty of social activities every day. Bus trips. Transportation to doctor appointments. Weekly grocery shopping trips for those who don't drive. Other trips to entertainment events. On site medical care with a doctor on site weekly. Physical therapy on site. Evening entertainment with musical groups. Daily social activities with games. A gym. Exercise classes. Daily meditation in the mornings. A gym. A movie theater. Two church services every week. Daily meals of lunch and dinner during the week days and Saturdays. Very reasonable initial fee. Reasonable monthly fee which includes house weekly house cleaning.Friendly helpful staff. Apartment fully equipped with kitchen appliances and reasonable closet space. Washer and dryer. Sun porches.

The care services is a 4 because they are a short staffed. However, it is a clean facility and decent food. Need to hire more staff for evenings. Yes, we would recommend the community to other families based on the experience so far.

The staff for the most part are great. They take no time to arrive if they are called. That's a big plus. The food if better that most places I've been to but there always room for improvement especially in the variety. On the down side they way overpriced

If the facility's doctor is chosen for resident's primary care, be prepared to bring urinalysis (done at the facility) to a lab to be processed. I did not realize they have no courrier to do that. We have had a couple issues of our parents missing hair or podiatry appointments there in the facility because no one called to remind them or went to their room to get them. (Both parents have significant memory loss). Cable TV service leaves A LOT to be improved on. We bought 2 new TVs, when told that perhaps the issue was their original TVs. It apparently is the facility's very outdated in house cable/internet system that should be updated for the price residents pay to have it. Most seniors do not understand streaming the programs they want to watch, and regular cable programs have very grainy reception. We've given up trying to rectify this. On the positive side...very friendly staff, very clean facility, food has been great, dining room open all day is a nice option for those who don't rise early for set breakfast hours.
